No kidding! I picked it up because of the striations and kept it because of the "face".

I have a piece of malachite that looks like an eye and a geode that my husband kept looks like a couple little people holding hands. I love rocks that offer a little something extra.

I should have thrown this piece in the tumbler but I was feeling creative (or impatient) and used my flat lap. Now I'm afraid I'll lose this awesome pattern if I tumble it. Mozambique agate, so cool. I may have to risk losing all my fingernails and just finish doing it by hand. lol

True, I'll leave it as is for a while before I do anything else to it. I would have to lose all of that pretty polish to grind it down any further and I'm not sure I want to!

Wow, great thread! Recently I have been studying fossils and petrified wood and stuff a lot! It is so fascinating! I'm fairly sure @Chicken Chiquita likes this kind of stuff too?

Oh, and a few months ago I went to a sort of deserts place with some cousins. One cracked a random rock on the road and found it to be like hard, shiny glass on the inside! We experimented more and found almost all the rocks on that stretch of road were the same, except for a great variety of colors! We thought they were geodes at first, but now I think they were...oh, I can't remember what they are called. It started with an "A".
