Update:
Even though we're still getting steps put together for them to use to get into the pool and out, Duchess learned to jump into it by herself. She keeps causing Colonel to freak out because he can't jump in and really wants to be as close as he can to her. As soon as she gets out of the pool, he runs up to her and presses himself against her.

Update:
Yesterday evening Colonel lost some of his tail feathers and got a few bite marks on him. Our dog Mika & her puppies somehow got into the temporary yard he and Duchess were in despite me putting a lot of heavy stuff in the way to prevent them. My dad had gone out to check on the puppies and saw that they were in the yard with the ducks. He put some stuff on him to help heal. I'm upset with myself that I had gone to bed too early(6pm) because I could have prevented it. I feel like I failed the ducks. I mean I'm glad he's still alive but I'm angry at myself.

It’s not your fault! There are some things that we just can’t prevent from happening no matter how careful we are. I am glad he is okay!

Update:
While Colonel recovers indoors, Duchess has been moved in with the chickens. I stood out there to watch how they interacted with each other and so far they're getting along fine. I put a watermelon half out there so they all could eat together.
I first brought her inside to see Colonel and they were extremely happy to see each other. They talked to each other while I held Duchess.
I just took a look at the window before writing this post and Duchess is currently sitting by the 5 gallon water and is drinking.
