Colonel & his females

Ignore the yucky cages. They were cleaned after the photos were taken.

Colonel keeps getting jealous whenever I refill Duchess' water dish first even though he gets fresh water too

He's getting use to her though and doesn't pick on her as much when they swim together in the tub.

As of yesterday, Duchess is now 1 week old.
Colonel is 3 weeks old or just about that age.

Nice! I've been thinking about adding some runners to my flock, but I've heard that they can be a bit skittish so I'm still up in the air about it. Are they your first ducks or do you have others?

I've had a couple of runners and yes they can be a little excitable, but their enthusiasm and exuberance more than make up for it. They always are the first in line for anything and tend to become flock leaders. Of course, I've only had two now, both girls, but that's my experience so far!
