Columbian silkies?

so ur telling me i should contine to breed my pair of columbians on my site and see what i get
yes and I´m only basing this on how you described the buff bird you used on the first cross, which by all acounts sounds like a buff columbian instead of the useless(to this project) self buff birds, so yeah keep the project going, at some point you should see results

Nicalandi... Is this what you mean by the buff columbian? She has the definite dark streaking in the hackles, dark wing primaries, and some dark in the cushion. She tucks her wings so much that you can't see the dark unless I spread them. I have gotten some weird pastel/porcelain looking, almost dilute looking partridges out of this pen before.

Here is one of my splash lemon columbian silkies.  I have two.  THey are still young, so not sure how their final colouring will end up.  THey are getting some autosomal red on the trailing edges of their wings.  You can barely see it here, but it is much more obvious now.  One has better hackle colouring than the other.

how nice did these birds try out? This one is amazing. Would love to see a picture of it now.

I am so glad I found this thread. The Columbians are exquisite! I have a pair looking like the reddish one above. They came out paint silkie eggs I ordered. The lady I got them from said that they actually considered paint but I may not get any, what is actually considered paint, out of them. There was only one chick hatched that was paint but was weak and only lived 2 days. So....is anyone here selling eggs. 6 would be fine with me if affordable...thanks!!
