Columbian silkies?

Yah he is a bit dirty looking at the moment. I think he's just a bit sun bleached at the moment. He's been free ranging for the last year plus, and is now in a pen with sun over head and grass under foot all day long. New to chickens but can you wash out sun bleach??? Or do I just wait for his next molt?
The breeder I bought him from last spring had him in a barn stall with little to no direct sunlight and there was no hint of yellow in his feathering when he came home with me. But I can tell you very little about his genetic background. Just that the breeder I got him from was told to breed him to a red partridge and you would get half Columbian and half red partridge ( the red partridge being boys) but she never had any luck with them, and wanted to move them on.
she included a red partridge hen with a crest so big she couldn't see. I cut the hens crest back and let them have a clutch of babies in a separate coop while they where in quarantine. And the first clutch they had had two pale silver partridge hens a close but no neck marks Columbian looking hen and two roosters that looked very much the red rooster from my picture above, but I gave thoughts two away, and keep the hens.
So would I be better finding him some silver partridge hens to stay with? Smutty buffs?? Keep him with his silver daughters?? I was able to find a hand full of cochin Colombian eggs and hatched out 2 boy and a girl. Should I mate the cochin hen with the silkie roo next year? Maybe start another line to breed him in some genetic diversity for later down the road?? Is it better to keep red partridge in the mix or out??
Sooo many questions sorry so many fell out at once.
Be every so happy for any advice you could give, thanks. :D

also hatched this roo out of a some cuckoo silkie eggs last year. keep him because he seemed to look just like the colombian rooster, just with a red base color instead of white. so any reason why he wouldn't be called a buff columbian?? i thought he was a partridge at first but cant find any reason why he couldn't be buff columbian?
so what do you think, could i use him in my project?
love to know what the pros think?
sorry he was scared of the camera so i couldn't get a good shot of his face, with out sending him running for the hills :)
He just does not look to have columbian patterning. Brahmas come in buff columbian. From feathersite:

Sonoran, I would love to hear what you think of the other rooster I posted pictures of, and if your still working on breeding columbians and if so I would love to see pictures:)
PS new to posting but love to able to share and learn
Thanks so much :)

RRRGG!!! Such an amazingly beautiful Roo!!
So close to my friends and family calling a chicken intervention on me!!!
And don't think I won't name you as my pusher fur N feathers if that is your really name!!!!
But on the other hand when your already this deep, what's a few more fluff balls right???

It was just the coloring of your red rooster reminded me of it.

I thought you might be interested since you seem to like the "other" colors like I do. Believe me I spend waaaaay to much time on this website drooling over pictures and projects.

I think you may be right, he does look like he might be a very good candidate for that project. And i really do love the looks of him and the colors of the McRooster are totally to drool over!!! Looks like I may be building a new breeding pen, or two??? Think I may have to look around for some nice looking hens that have some tan or brown coloring mixed with the silver penciling. The few grays I have are so light pale gray/ sliver they all most look white. But don't be surprised if i start posting pictures pictures next year :) but I'll still have you to blame for it;)

i was thinking about adding some blood form a non silkie breed that would add a good heavy dose of columbian to the project.i could only find cochin. but think maybe light brahma might work better?? smaller comb, and the feet are still plenty feathery? any thoughts?
the red rooster i posted pictures of dose have faint black markings around his neck, (sorry for the bad pictures) but your very right its just not nearly enough. but it does seems to be a pretty common problem in this project. oh well maybe ill save him for a salmon project
