Columbian silkies?

I just sold a beautiful Cloumbian cockeral this week.

This is the one I still have. I haven't intentionally been working on this color but I like it a lot.

And here is the Buff Columbian that I have (named that in the Silkies of a Different color thread). He is supposed to be F1 Porcelain (self blue cream). I am still on the fence about his color as I thought the Columbian pattern had black and the darker places on this guy are lavender colored. What do you guys think?

Side note: Wing carriage is terrible because it is triple digits - normally they are carried tighter.

So nice still think you need to breed them i'll be your first customer!!
some of my newest chicks for my columbian project looking very columbian...

same chick at a few days old and a few weeks old....

her brother i think??? same dad the columbian roo but with a sizzle mom, buff Colombian i think?

He looks lke blue buff columbian, not just buff columbian. He may have a copy of lav, but IMO, his eumelanin is far too dark to be lavender (lav/lav). I'd love to see columbians worked on seriously!

What color hen would I use with them to try and reproduce or improve on the color? Are they typey enough to continue breeding them?

Blue Buff Columbian sounds so exotic! His color is so unique - similar to a buckskin horse. Not even close to anything I have right now. What about crossing him with Green Head pink wings? She is possibly a very, very light version of his color.

I have that light gray girl also, how neutral is gray?

I have my black hen also. I remember reading that black was a neutral in chickens.

So precious!!!

Thanks fur n feathers you alway make posting fun!!!
I think if it where me, I would give your rooster two or three girls my favorite one is the lovely pale looking columbian hen she's precious! The grays also look like a nice choice, I think black can hide colors like white does but I'm not completely sure on that???
All your birds look like good quality birds to me?
compared to some people selling eggs they look down right stunning!!!
Just remember I want your first set of eggs!!!!

Thank you Theresa! That one is Green Head Pink Wings (that is her name)! Ha! Ha! She has been a favorite of mine since she was born. Which rooster the blue buff Columbian (I just love that color name)? I have a picture of them standing side by side from a couple of months ago. Let me see if I can dig it up.

It is not very flattering and a bit out of focus but you can see the color hues. Both their feather coats have gotten shinier and fluffier since then. Green Head is about three weeks older than he is.
