Well im on another hatch thread that covers my other eggs set 10-15 but then i have some 10-18 so can be here too.

Never on too many hatch threads HAHA!

Whoops...and for those who dont know me from the other thread....... i set some Palimino Barhmas candled last night.. day 7 and 6 of 7 look good .I am excited because they are my first 'local' non shipped eggs.Hoping for a nice hatch for a change.

Nankinich ....where is Maysville? i am in Mo too.
Oh and my eggs are always brown ones also.

Roxannemc, Maysville is in Northern Missouri, North of KC about an hour and a half. What part of MO are you from?

Well, my two sets will now be three i reckon... Had an issue with getting the jersey giant eggs this morning, sooo now im bout 4-5 dozen short of my orig goal.

Oh I want to join you *so* badly!! But I have no one to get eggs from One of my chickens only just started laying 3 days ago, and I doubt they are fertilized, since I've never seen my bantam roo doing his business... How can I tell if they may be fertile??

Try to incubate the eggs and see if they develop. Check craigslist near you, you may be able to find some eggs to hatch

Set 82 chicken eggs including 24 rir's and 2 bantam + 4 turkey eggs tonight. I candled a few from last weeks set. all looked good. tossed the 2 bantams and the turkey egg. all 3 were infertile. Not the numbers i wanted, but ill set another batch soon.

Thanks, Im just worried if I get rid of the 3 dead ones there will be one left. Are sure she will stay if I get rid of duds but the one live one?

P.s why is it so bad if they go into lockdown. ( remember I have a broody hen doing this)
