I was hoping that a lot more people would write in my name for President;

I was disappointed that we don't have a place to write in a name for president on my state's ballot. I wanted to write in Snoopy, but you would have had my heart if I'd known you were running.​

I'd just like to say that no matter how you voted.I am so glad you did.Its so nice to see people taking an interest in the process.For those of you who voted for McCain.I feel for you in the last 2 elections I stood where you do now.I hope we can reach across the aisle and get things done for the good of our children and our grandchildren and the generations to come. In the end we are all on the same side, the side of the U.S.A.

I am proud to have voted for Obama. I would never say I can't believe anyone would vote for McCain because I understand that what is important to me, is not as important to others. I understand that not everyone holds the same opinions and beliefs as I do. I am glad that the majority of the country believes, as I do, that Obama will be able to help us turn around the economy, the war, etc. Had it gone the other way, I would have hoped the same things for McCain. I am thrilled that my children and I have been able to witness such a historic moment in our Nation's history. I think it is offensive to intimate however, that the vote went the way it did simply because our President-elect is black. I am a white woman, but McCain having a white woman running with him didn't make me want to vote that way. We should all be proud of how many people stood in line to make their voices heard yesterday. We should all be proud of the men and women who worked so hard to support whatever candidate they believed in. I think McCain and Obama are both honorable men and I was glad to see them both acknowledge the strengths of the other, I hope that we can all emulate them.

I think the people of the United States should give themselves a hearty pat on the back for getting out and voting in record numbers. I eagerly voted for our new President, but I was so glad to see a glimpse of the John McCain I used to respect when he gave his eloquent and gracious speech. And I know that he meant it when he said he would support President-elect Obama and help him any way he can. I think both of them have the ability to reach across party lines and bring this country together for a common cause--the betterment of the American people.

Turnout in my county was 88% . Oregon is unique and generally has high turnout due to its election process. Everyone votes by mail. We get our ballots in, fill them out and either drop them in one of the vote boxes scattered about town or slip them in the mail (if we have a few couple of days leeway). We've lived here just over 4 years and being able to vote from home, looking up details on measures and such as we go, just never gets old.

I love the fact that this election was important enough to move people to wait in line for hours. It shows that our nation's people were engaged and enthusiastic.

Well, its all over... and honestly we just need to sit back and watch what happens (hopefully not just watch, but volunteer and be involved in our communities along the way).

People will complain and grown and bicker... it is expected... but we've been doing that for the last 8 years, its now just over different people but the same old problems.

We should be celebrating how proud as a country we are that we were out there in droves yesterday and we weren't afraid to speak out minds!

In other words... we should all start drinking immediately!!!
