$50 for a laying hen?! No way..I know they charge $50 for their ugly pet quality silkies..but for a sex link..I'm shocked.

I'm doing great. MNC, PC, and I just had another get together on Sunday. Went great, as usual

I can't believe they're charging $50 for "ameracaunas"....they're EE's, mixed breeds..someone needs to slap that woman with the Standard of Perfection book

You're sitting on that big comfy chair with your laptop and Sweet Pea
aren't you? Did ya poor a glass of wine yet? That's a wonderful way
to spend a rainy day.

Drum has a sore throat and cold so he's home from school. I took a
personal day so I could stay home with him. We are still in our jammies.

I got my hair cut on Monday!! I actually didn't cry and I'm actually happy with it!! It's short to me, but still long by some people's standards. I lost about three inches!! It's so much healthier looking.

Okay, I'm back after a very long hiatus, but not because I avoid you plucky processing types!!! Let me be clear on that. Heck, I admire you so much that I'd love to do another Chickenstock here in Spring/Summer or whenever is your fancy...

Hi Becky, how are you ? Long time no talk.....I hear more from your roosters than I do from you !!

I ended up with 2 Buff roos even though I only ordered the one from My Pet Chicken. I ended up making a smaller pen from the larger one I had built last year and covered the top with deer netting. It's not the prettiest thing in the world but I haven't lost any birds while they were in it....although about a month or two ago I had let the birds range in the yard during the day because my wife was working from home. When I got home it was dark and none of the birds had returned to the coop. I searched the yard with my daughter and a flashlight and we were able to locate all but 1 of 10 birds hunkered down in various spots in the yard. We were able to gather the birds and put them in the coop. The next morning the remaining missing bird was outside the coop looking for a way in. In the daylight I did find at least one pile of feathers from one of my birds leading me to believe that during the previous day either a hawk or less likely, a neighborhood dog had attacked one of my girls. I haven't let them out into the yard since then. All the leaves are down and there's not much protection for them in my yard....it would seem. My two roosters seem to be doing all the "rooster" things except crowing...? Maybe I shouldn't complain ??? I have one who's more dominant than the other. I will process one of them in the Spring I guess.....the less dominant one maybe ???
