I pm'd you silly! I went to Salem and the clerk could only say "around Easter". I'll call tomorrow. Didn't call TSC in RI yet. DS has decided he want Cayugas now. Not that I influenced him or anything.....

haha I didn't even see my inbox. What clerk was there, was it a younger girl because if it was she's new and really doesn't even know anything, but if there was a shorter lady with short grey hair and probably has a sweatshirt on, she would probably know. I have some cayuga eggs if you wanted to give those a try and hatch, they won't be purebreds though. Either cayuga pekin(if my pekin figured out what to do with a female yet) or cayuga muscovie. I know this guy in groton that has really nice birds, ducks too. I'll have to try to find his phone number, he's right by pfizers. Keep me updated on the info

Oh the lady on Rt. 66 has tons of ducks, and lots of cayugas, most are females. I'll have to try to find her number too or take a swing by there soon.
It was the blond girl. I called this morning and got an "older" woman who said they don't know the exact date but they will definitely be getting them in a few weeks. I'll call every Monday till I know. TSC in RI is NOT getting any this year. The man on the phone was a little rude about it. I was disappointed.
The ducks are still on my mind but I'm not going to actively pursue it .... yet. I will see if TSC or Salem happens to have any. I will keep reading to make sure Cayugas are really what I'd like. Take it from there. At least I know I have a resource if I decide to go for it. Hatching is a possibility! Thanks
Salem always has ducks, babies, adults, whatever. That's were we got out first cayugas, one almost died, drowned in it's water bowl and my dad gave him CPR and he came back to life
The ducks I got from MMH were alive and really healthy, but they didn't come directly from MMH came from some place in CA, they only problem is you have to order 10. I like cayugas, they are really pretty, and lay a lot of eggs, jet black to a grayish color, tell your son about the runner ducks I bet he would like them, and they come in black like the cayugas too

We got a bunch of books at the library this afternoon. I personally don't care for the look of runner ducks but that's just me. I also spent many afternoons at Cayuga Lake in NY picnicking with my grandparents as a kid so I admit to some major sentimentality going on here! What we'd need to find is a relatively quiet duck that wouldn't fly out of the yard. Or do you just wing clip like an indoor pet bird? I'd love to just pop into Salem or TSC and find two cayugas to bring home. If I do my research now I can be all set up to brood them separately from my chicks that are coming in April. Definitely don't want more than 2. Does Salem carry them as straight run? Not that I even know if I want two male two females or a pair.
I'm pretty sure that they are carried st. run but you could always ask, and if you are looking for young ones that are fully feathered that lady on Rt.66 has tons and tons of them, man I gotta find her number
My female cayuga see's my muscovie fly and she "tries" to, but just ends up flapping around, but if your looking for a quiet duck they deffiently aren't the ones, she is the loudest I have ever had, and my others have been pretty loud too. Good luck in your search, I'll look around for you too!
tractor supply in Ct is going to be getting chicks and ducklings
Also if you guys want to come to Ma i know a lady who usualy has adult cyugas and ducklings

Yes, the one in Griswold is getting theirs April 13. I'm hoping to hold out that long. Although I'm now thinking khaki campbells are a better breed for my situation.
Where in MA is she? Just in case I change my mind....
