A few hours later, at about midnight, Mel called Jet back into the cave.

"Yes, Mistress Mel?" Jet bowed to her.

"Get me Atero." Mel said, her voice nor her face betraying any kind of emotion.

"Yes Mistress Mel," Jet bowed to her, before running out of the cave. She went to where Atero stayed, "Atero?"

Aithne rolled her eyes. "I only found it because I happened to hear her voice" Nods at the shape shifter "and followed it. If you want to keep this 'secret' from Mel, maybe you might want to talk quietly." She turned around, and as an after thought, added "She's not out right now."

Pompona was sitting in a bush half listening to the pegasi and thinking of how miserable she was. Atero is as good as dead Pompona, she thought, Gone.
NO! she thought, Atero is not gone! "He is not gone!" she muttered angrily, "He is not gone!" she noticed she'd spoken aloud.

Dapple turned, saying to Crystal, "Did you hear that?"

Okay, he does sound a little harsh, doesn't he? Just a warning, but not all will tolerate that. (He's definitely not evil, but it's pretty obvious not everyone agrees with his views)

Yes, I do realize that. His harshness is to add interesting character traits, you can't just make him a happy, loved by everyone Gary-Stu. Not to mention, it's more realistic considering most members of councils and governments in real life aren't exactly angelic.
