Danz, I don't seem to have the Gardner Swap on my lists on the FB swaps, how did we miss that? Can you give me the date & times & location for that swap so I can add it to our list? Is it on a Sunday? Unless I could talk my DH into going with me he would probably have heart failure if I drove that far for a peacock. So is it just an auction or is there a swap meet too? I guess I just blanked out on people talking about it because I thought we already had the info & it's so far for me. I am looking for one more buck Mini Rex too, maybe if I came I could find that there too. We would not be able to get anything big because we would have to bring our car. Our truck doesn't go very far from home any more, it's really old. My DH is getting mad at me for taking rabbits & birds in our new car, but our truck is old & his old car isn't doing well either, so what else can I do? Speaking of having to clean, yeah I'm in the same boat as you, I have my son & his girlfriend coming at the end of the week & my house, well let's just say it's not company friendly right now. I have neglected it with doing things for my chickens & all & now I've got to get on it big time this week. It's not that my son would care, but he's bringing his girlfriend & I don't want her to see it in the mess it's in. I have painting to finish in the livingroom because I put that on hold & I really need to get it done so we can move the furniture back where it goes. Arrggghhh, I hate cleaning with a passion, I would rather do almost anything than that. I know it's a necessary evil, but it's not my favorite thing to do. It's kind of like having to listen to someone run their fingernail across a chalkboard.
Well now I'm not sure what to do about the peacock. If I wait & there aren't any at any of the swaps then I'm just out of luck. On the other hand I hate to pay more than I have to for one. They just seem to be going higher right now even with them molting. There is another gal on the swap with some, but she wants $65 for the males & won't go down any. These up by Newton are yearlings, so just about the right age to get one I think. I have read you can teach the yearlings really easily to stay on your property where the older ones are harder to teach. I would like for them all to eventually free-range when the young ones are old enough.
