Construction of "The Pantry". Another Wacky Coop. (Pic Heavy)

Between work and rain I've not had a chance to work on it at all. If all goes well some work should get done this weekend. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for all of the kind words.

On another note, I have been discussing paint colors with the kids. They are leaning towards all crazy colors. I am leaning toward matching our house color which is a light shade of moss green with tan trim. I would still add a few crazy accents colors but i wanted something that wouldn't offend the neighbors. Any thoughts.

I think every side should be a different color. You could use the light green with tan trim on one side, perhaps the one facing the neighbors, and perhaps tan with light green on the opposite side, but then maybe throw in a lavender and tangerine side. Maybe using this color scheme:

I personally think a wacky coop deserves wacky colors. But... being familiar with Bradenton (or affectionately known as "God's waiting room"), your neighbors may not have the same view of it. It wouldn't hurt to ask around though!

if you want to be sorta wacky yet not offend the neighbors use your house colors and switch them for each side. house color as wall color on 2 sides, then trim color for wall color on two sides trim color to be opposite on each as well. Paint the door a bright red, add wooden window boxes in red to create a pop of color.

PS......... anytime you want to come over to the island and build a goose house we wouldnt object!

I agree, wacky coop, wacky colors

Besides, from your photos, it doesn't look as if your neighbors are all that close so they don't have to look at it if they don't want to - but who wouldn't want to look at that beautiful coop!

I'd say do whatever color scheme you would like unless there is an HOA/regulatory body preventing it. Its your property not your neighbors'!

Hadn't even thought about window boxes! Thanks, now I have the vision in my head, that just added a little more work.
