One of my hens is chronically low on calcium and used to always lay eggs with super weak shells. I have been giving her big doses of liquid calcium supplements and that has really helped when nothing else did. Should I continue to given them to her all year round, even when she's laying a lot less during the winter?

As long as your hens are laying eggs, they should be provided a laying hen diet. Be sure that the diet contains between 3.8 and 4.2% calcium. If the diet does not meet that requirement, then supplement with oyster shell or find a feed that meets the nutritional requirements of the bird.
