Snagged 28 HT pallets today. More available if needed, trying to find plans I can build with the wood from the pallets as they are not all the same size and a few have damage.

I'll check out the REstore in Wallingford today when we go visit my in-laws. There is also one in Cromwell that services my area.

ReStore in Wallingford is small and has no lumber, but I bought some nails.
The clerk told me that other stores may have more construction materials especially Bloomfield and (IIRC) Stratford.
I joined freecycle.org and put out there that I am looking for lumber and construction materials.

I started construction. The costs have exceeded my initial intent. I bought a good amount of wood and some specialized hardware. Dimensions will be 10x12 with a 5x6 shed on the east side open to the larger section. So it has a total of 150sqft of floor area. The roof slopes down toward the south side. I'm going to have a big southern window set up to get solar gains in the winter, and it will be shaded in the summer by foliage to keep it cool. The large section's eastern face that doesn't attach to the shed will have nesting boxes so it is warm in the morning there. Pallet floor covered in plywood over concrete pad that was pre-existing.

Here's a little diagram...
