Coop in the making

Your coop is raised?

Deep litter bedding needs to be on the earth to function.
The nutrients in it draw the worms and microbes that compost it. No ground contact means no decomposition.

I have a wood floor in my coop. It has been up and running for years. I can attest to it needing cleaned out twice a month at least.

Just thought you should know.
Deep litter without ever cleaning yes... it needs earthworms and such, but to keep a raised coop with deep litter is different. My coops are done deep litter, stay fairly dry... no real odor issues, and after 4 to 6 months i lean the out and start from scratch. The removed stuff goes into my garden lare season to powerboost my spring crops.
