Coop Plan suggestions

My advice is don't start out with pre-fab. Unless you're only in it temporarily, you'll wind up moving on to something better. That said, I did order a pre fab so that I could use the parts to make a brooder. It's just that it's not even remotely sufficient for adult chickens. There are so many factors that = what you should do/build, starting with how many chickens, vision, functionality important to you, budget. I started out with 6 chickens and an old dog house. Fast forward 20years later I have expanded it twice to be a small barn/large coop for 15. I've always found inspiration right here on BYC, the link you have to coops. But right now.... I'm on the internet looking for ideas under my search "nicest, fancy chicken coops." It's just where I am after 20years of improving, I'm taking my coop to a new level of beautiful and functional. I have been viewing this coop external to BYC and also @DobieLovers coop article. It's serveral pages, such good detail and I really admire this coop!! It's fun. I hope you enjoy the process!! Good luck!

If you like having cut lists and detailed instructions, Etsy has some nice options. Lots of not so great things there, too. Feel free to paste a link to something you would consider buying before doing so. Lots of people here will offer feedback.

Thank you for the advice! I’m brand new to keeping birds. I’d like to be in it for the long haul. But I’ll have to see how I manage these birds! Lol!
