corn for 6 week old chicks? Please advise

Hi, can I give them mashed up corn without feeding grit or am I asking for trouble?

Sure you can . Are you giving them anything else but that ? A good chick starter would offer all the essentials that chicks require and it's OK to add corn(crushed) , wheat , oats , etc . Grit is inexpensive and only needed when feeding whole grains .

Hi, thanks! Actually the mashed up corn was as a treat from our dinner table. But in the end I decided not to give it to them. I didn't want any problems since I don't have grit. I have to go get some additional supplies and will make sure grit is on the list
