I understand what you all say-I have a wife- I will say no more-lol
I have an idea on the meal worms- and yes our poultry free range big time
my wife is told things and I spend time seeing if its true lol and mostly it is but
o my I am running low on -whatever
lol thank you all you gave me ideas I need to try
 
I am researching mealworm-my climate is not ideal minus say 23 f in winter plus say 110 f in summer-but I can get them I can build or have a simple enclosure I may need to re-establish colony each spring -my wife wont at this stage let me keep in the house-that's funny-they can be eaten by humans amazing o I can get 500 for about $7 aus-lol some call them chicken caviar thank you thank you thank you

ps how to I give trophies to people? yes yes dumb question lol I am 64 and a bit ---I see 2 year olds on I phones -lol talk about funny so sorry
 
amazement and thank you and apologise for waffle-I can get mealworm they naturally eat decaying organic matter-and seeds -this I have by vast volume-they would be dormant at my night temperatures-still-I have found a source for them In aus-I have a container I have a safe place-I read you words in wonder I apologise if I am corny or over the top-it is what it is
 
Just feed them sparingly and let them forage for the majority of what they need..... you don't hardly see any chicken starving if they are allowed to free-range, they've been doing it for millions of years without human having to feed them.
Yes, But domestic chickens have not. The majority of chicken breeds have had their wild instincts bred out of them. A chicken born and raised in captivity without ever knowing or having to forage for their diet will not survive on its own. And feeding it sparingly with just rice or corn will lower the chickens productivity rate as. The
 
100% agree-I once bought special meat chickens from a place-only one of 20 of them could actually walk- I cry for what we have done-
I understand the feed ideas-I however am becoming minimalist- i have a capacity I think to do that I apologise for saying that here -due to some reasons I cant stop telling things some bit of poultry somewhere in my life taught the others to free range
I don't know how or where -if you buy any breed except specialist meat chickens in my opinion they will learn to free range-I think I know I am not 100% sure I am sorry I waffle on
