Not that this will do much for most of you normal people...but I recently found and ordered a new GF flour through Sam's Club and have some sandwich bread going in the bread machine.
First time using this blend...and holey smokes did it rise!
Normally GF flours are heavy and struggle to get a decent rise like wheat based flours, but this stuff behaved quite differently. I followed the recipe from the maker/manufacturer of the flour mix but wowsers...I've never seen GF flour puff up so much. Of course it fell too, but not too bad so we'll see what it turns out like.

....I know, exciting, right??
DD swore off cooking before she ever had a chance to learn. One of the true "positives" of our self-isolation is her interest in all things kitchen. She's made all sorts of recipes she's found on the Internet - including a BACON-wrapped meatloaf that was to die for ... literally! I could feel those arteries clogging, but it was worth it! Her current fascination is with our long-disused bread machine, except that she prefers letting the machine make the dough and shaping/baking it herself. The pounds are gonna pile on ... but the whole house smells WONDERFUL!

This is a GREAT pattern! THANKS! I saved it the hard way, though ... I did the stop/start/write it down method ... and was nearly through the whole pattern demo before I realized that there was an English translation ...

Lol I broke out the metric ruler to do mine.

Ha around here the shelters are either empty( the ones I have used in the past) or they want to visit your place, one wanted to see a w2 and all want to talk to your vet.
A lot of the private shelters are like that, and really, that's okay by me, because most of their pets are already safe - either in a no-kill shelter or already in foster homes. The public shelters (SPCA, Animal Control, etc.) are the ones that are most in danger of government orders to euthanize. They also tend to have lower fees and fewer restrictions, as well. Because we took what most people consider "unadoptable" cats (yeah, just look at those two vicious brutes! :gig) the adoption fee was waived. If you foster, not only is there no fee, but they provide food and medical care, if needed. It's a win/win for everybody!

@featherhead007 ....how are things today? Everything ok?
,
I'm ok, the birds are ok, except for "Sunshine" I had to just get out so, I took Red, My RIR out for a quick drive in the country... (Quick) We went 100 mph on back roads. I needed the rush! I can do that out here, the Sheriff is a friend of mine.. RED loves my lexus

And THAT is just how we want it to be - just another bout with another common illness! Hopefully, that's what this will become in a few years ... and yes, it will take at least that long to work its' way through the population.

Yea. That would be a great wish. The cold is actually a virus as well which has like 16million strains. But if you get one, you are immune from that one for life.
Compared to the flu, It's stronger, spreads easier, and I'll bet the numbers go up in the fall. I was thinking a Camparison to Marek's in the chicken world. You hope to get an immunization prior to contact with the real thing. But you remain a carrier. Chicken has it for life. And chicks need 3-4 weeks of of quarantine growing those antibodies that attack the virus.

Is their another ailment with people get a vaccine but you can spread , become symptom free but can carry it and still pass it to others? What about those NPIP diseases? They go mother to egg and chick and the chick carries it and infects others?

I do think that we as a back yard chicken group probably know about viruses,, spread, test, see first hand, etc. I think that makes our understanding of Covid19 better.

Is to me :wee
Do you have to join to order online?I assume so
What is the brand?
Flour mix
Sam's page
recipe used

It's flaxseed and brown rice based with whole grains instead of white rice with more empty starches added. To get a good bread mix I still needed to add a little tapioca starch, but not much. (Instead of the oats, I had some sorghum on hand)
And my bread turned out more golden ecru in color, not white at all. But though it fell some, it's really good with a hearty texture. (No, I couldn't wait to let it cool...lol)
I'm hoping it was just a pinch too much yeast that caused the big rise.

I haven't looked else where for it because I hadn't heard of it until I stumbled upon it through Sam's sites. Though maybe good for different uses...I can see this being a possibly better replacement for us than Bob's Red Mill 1 to 1 when I don't want to mix from total scratch.
