Reporting in...

I've been doing way too much reading on this virus, lol. The latest rabbit hole is learning how it works, reproduces, etc. It's extremely interesting and absolutely crazy!

I had to get cat food today and grabbed enough groceries to last a while, I hope.

It felt like breaking out of the apocalypse...

Seemed like a great day for cake.

Chicken and pork prices are up, beef is the same, they are limiting how much you can buy (I cannot believe they are planning ahead?!). However, there is plenty.

Almost everyone was wearing a mask. TP and paper towels are available.

Canned food everywhere, organic juice BOGO, it was like Alice in Blunderland! There was a lot of cleaning supplies too!! I might have thrown in a couple of pirouettes.

Then I left.

I forgot to get cake. Let me eat cake!

Over and out...
Come on over to the home baking thread and someone will fix you up!

That's so Muscovy!
I wonder if their Scovy 'tude comes from the fact that they are the only duck that did not descend from wild Mallards.
Muscovies are like- I'm a goose. Just because I'm in a more compact package does NOT mean you can mess with me and get away with it. I'm watching you.....

Poults....don't worry, they will get less cute when they hit the gangly teenage stage and look for ways to kill themselves. A few will connect with you, and maybe you will keep them, but the rest you will be like...ok, I'm good and ready for them to be done. :D
She honestly is like a dog and comes when you call her name.

I'm already feeling that way about the meat chickens 😂 I sold 46 of them and only kept 8. They were grossing me out 🤮 they're bigger than my 3 week old turkeys and they're only 2 weeks.

I'll stick with dual purpose chickens.

When I went to go get some of them that I just sold and put them in a box, they were trying to eat my hand and my feet 😳 They're little gremlins

Meat factories are having a very hard time with diseases and workers. Don't be shocked when meat is barely there in the next few weeks. The news has been reporting it for weeks and it's sad that we've done nothing until now.
Buy local. You' may pay a smidge more (but not always!) but you're usually getting better meat ... and supporting a local farmer/market instead of the big chains. If you don'y know where to purchase local meats, Google farm markets and butchers. They're all over the place! If that fails and you're located in the US, contact your local Agricultural Extension Office. They're in touch with local Ag and should be able to direct you to a supplier - or at least point you in the right direction.

Hubby's work has now extended work-from-home until Dec 31st.

Wow!! That's a long time. I am working at home indefinitely and am 100% a-ok with it. I get a lot more done, a lot faster. :)

LoL! Wellllllll....I do not enjoy cooking, baking, and especially absolutely despise cleaning up. So, umm, yeah, there's that, which might be a problem with that idea. Unless you mean that you all like to bake so much that there's extras or you need taste testers, in that case I'M IN!!!!!!

Box cakes with a couple of eggs are delicious and it's the one thing I eat that's not organic hahah. I know....box cakes....facepalm away :D

I hate baking but sure love the results! :wee

I used to like German Chocolate cake but have since changed to German Yellow cake to mix it up. I can eat a 13x9 cake in ~3-4 days. But I'm not watching dramedies while doing it!! ;) :D

I don't need to buy local, I do my own meat.

Local farmers don't have any meat either. They are using it for their own families and friends.
