I should have skipped some I guess too.
Did mine online and think I could have chosen "other" for a few questions but it wanted you to specify I think. Can't remember. I was trying to be a "good" citizen and answer what I did know, but I don't remember previous ones asking so much.
Now the farm surveys...that's a different story.

I think I tried to skip and it wouldn't let me.

It aggravated me that, for me, it didn't give me a blank so I could write in my own definition like it did for Whites. Instead it gave me multiple choice. If it had given me a blank I would have put Aztec and Spanish, although culturally I am neither. Just like culturally my kids are not German or Polish. It just griped me that right off the top it divided everybody into Hispanic and non-Hispanic. It felt like sheep/goats, right/wrong, good/bad, us/them. Sorry, ranting again.

Change of subject. Our six BA cockerels are 16 weeks old. Three of them are off to freezer camp tomorrow. The other three will follow later this week. I have mixed feelings about this. This was to be their fate from Day One, it's why we ordered them in the first place. But darn it, I never expected to like them so much! :th

Don't be sorry. I noticed that too. It was obsessive about Hispanic and I was like WTH??

BA- Black Australorp?

My current roo and egg poppa to the 20 eggs in the bator is an Australorp. From the age of 4 months old I've been waiting for him to turn nasty but he's still docile at 14 months. He was an oopsie roo and I never planned to keep him until covid hit and I realized he could be useful.
I'm almost starting to like him. Almost. Doesn't hurt that he's gorgeous!

Not sure what I'm going to do when the chicks grow up and I end up with 3 or 4 roos. Him, the JG roo, possibly a Partridge Rock, and maybe a Red Ranger. Not even including any roo kids in the incubator now.
I've gone mad I'm telling you!

I have maybe fifteen cockerels out there right now, and at five and eight weeks of age, it's too soon to really sift down to maybe three. More time! Then, either the freezer or to be sold. Also some pullets will be leaving, and I'll be deciding later.

There was a space to just not answer the 'genetic' questions on the census, so just don't answer if you don't want to. I thought it was intrusive too, and left some unanswered.

Hmm, honestly I didn't notice if there was a skip option - would've done it if I'd seen it. And like SnapdragonQ...

I was trying to be a "good" citizen and answer what I did know

... I was thinking the same, do my civic duty and all that.

Yes, Black Australorp. None of them have been jerks. They don't even crow much. I only separated them from the flock about a week ago because they finally started acting hormonal, but not bad. Two of them, in the bachelor pen, sparred a little, but not much. And George, the BJG, who I left with the flock, often lies beside the bachelor pen next to one of his buddies. Makes me feel bad! Even worse, one of the BA seems to have paired off with one of the pullets. She has flown into the bachelor pen once or twice and sometimes they pace the fence together. I feel like an ogre. If I can tell him apart from the others, I will spare him. I will even name them Wesley and Buttercup! ❤

Awww. :love

Mine is the least crowing-est rooster I've ever had. I'm enjoying that because in about 6 months I'll probably have gone mad from constant crowing.
