LOL that's something I have doneDuh... I ordered the mini one LOL. I was in such a panic to get one since the air here is getting worse by the hour that I ordered too quickly. We have a sick chick in our sunroom that is covered in ash and the air quality isn't helping her. I got the mini, although I'm sure it will be better than nothing. I'll just need to port it around to whatever room we happen to be sitting in. Sorry about that!

If an avatar offends you, you can block that person, if you know how. From what I understand, it's not difficult to do. Might be worth it to you for your own peace of mind.I mean, they're still not taking down certain hate-group avatars in the name of "both sides", so there's only so far that rule extends. 9_9;
Yes, it was a strange thing. I was diagnosed in college while participating in a Strength and Conditioning Weight Lifting Study. Never had an issue with it for 40 ish years and the mask thing brought it out. Never had a job where I had to wear a mask or breathe CO2 and with hypercapnia, CO2 is your enemy.Hypercapnia... it sounds familiar. I'll have to look that one up....
Medical conditions fascinate me.
Y'know, I'm not trying to start or feed an argument, but at some point, we have to be responsible for ourselves. We can't expect our Admins to catch everything. This is, after all, a chicken forum. If our Admins have to spend all their time chasing down things that may offend someone, there won't be anyone taking care of the site. The best we can do is report things as we see them and hope that somone else sees the validity of our opinion. If it's outweighed by someone else's opinions, then we need to adjust and move on. If that means avoiding certain people or certain threads, so be it.Maybe no one reported it. They said they couldn't look over everything with out help

I had friends dealing with the Camp Fire. They didn't have to evacuate (thank heavens!) but they had a lot of ash. They ended up hanging bedsheets inside the windows and doors and keeping them wet with a spray bottle of water. Except for having to take them down to rinse, frequently (when the ash clogged them, they weren't as effective) they were easy to maintain and made significant difference on the amout of ash in the house and coop. She couldn't use them in the stable because her horse kept pulling them down. Apparently sheets, even small ones, are fun playtoys!Thanks! And thanks for your kind words. Sorry that you had to deal with fires and asthmaWe might need to get some air purifiers because we live in an old house and even with the windows closed there's ash and dust everywhere.
The blood red skies, ash coming down like snow, and smoky air is really rough. I've been checking on the chickens and chicks all day. I noticed yesterday that there's a hawk cruising over the area where they free range (which, luckily, is a small orchard, so plenty of cover), so I've been keeping my eye on them anyway. One of the many lovely/positive things about the pandemic is being home way more than usual, spending time outdoors, and hanging with the chickens. Chicken therapy is real lol!
Excellent article! Thank you for sharing.Here's an article by Rebecca Solnit in The Guardian today about the California wildfires: https://www.theguardian.com/comment...-fire-season-california-oregon-climate-action. She's an incredible writer and one of my favorites.
