I can't believe I'm doing it again! I have eggs coming. I'm going to hatch .. during the cold months. I will have new layers earlier this year. That's if...the eggs don't freeze before they get here. I'm excited to be getting some Nn eggs. Crossing fingers for a couple of hens from them.
I’m waiting for the inevitable broodies. Unfortunately, I need to be sure the incubators are working just in case. Oh, the dilemma!

Not intending to start an argument but genuinely I don't understand people sometimes. On a sister site there was a thread much like this one. I calmly pointed out some flaws in what somebody was saying and got jumped on by multiple people lol.

A direct quote in response to me. "Live in fear is you must, but please don't try to shame others into living the same way. No one is endangering anyone's life by not wearing a mask and no one is saving anyone's life by wearing one."

stuff like this makes what happened today so unsurprising. We really, truly are beyond reason now aren't we.. sigh. Since when did staying home more during a pandemic become nonsense lol. Also since when did wearing a mask not save anybody's life? I guess people would be fine with their surgeon not wearing one lol. I'm so confused anymore. And with all this said, i may even get jumped on for saying this here because it's somehow controversial.

So, uh, how about that totally normal stuff happening today, huh? >_> Normal things. Definitely not things some of us saw coming a long way off. Nope. Only normal things.
If I could...... No.... Just gonna stop here. If ya wanna PM to safely banter.... My ear is still open, just know it gonna need to be a two way street as always dear one....

Incidentally we beat the screaming antelope in my board game today AND survived the acid rain without having to eat a single person. :lau In fact our little board game town went up in population, not down! Not bad!

And in my dinosaur game I am now the proud owner of a tamed high level Allosaurus and a new female t-rex, which means I now have a breeding pair of t-rexes. I also caught a new high level Spinosaurus, but both the ones I have are boys so I have to find a lady before I can start breeding those.

And those cute bunnies I posted went into a new, more secure, cage today. The one they were in has wire spaced out a little (really meant for bucks not litters) and one of them slipped out today. Oops! So now they have new digs where they can hop about all they want and cause trouble SAFELY.

Totally off subject here... but remember our ginger discussions? The organic stuff I planted and it grew well?? Well I had to bring the pots in for the winter and most went dormant so I dug in the dirt the other day in two of the pots and discovered the ginger more than doubled, maybe even tripled!

...and I know the rest if you are like what's snappy talking about??
After googling how to grow ginger in pots, I bought some plain organic ginger from a local upscale grocery store last Jan or Feb, planted it, and was rewarded with nice tall plants that almost bloomed (ginger takes forever to bloom!) and now I have plenty of ginger growing to cook with and will never need to buy ginger again.

Fresh ginger is freezable, or I can just break off a nub from the main plant whenever I need some. Ginger grows well in pots and can be brought inside for the winter.
Easy, and peasy.

Aloha gang!
@Cynthia12 you are totally fine... post photos lol :D  ;) :p:jumpy!!!

I am always up for a good PM rant also but I will dump the conspiracy theory ranters as I don't do crazy. Not qualified.

Love that you are growing ginger in pots and sharing your info @IamRainey -Bravo!

Yesterday, after having my add up for roosters for months with 0 responses and almost giving up, as the cockerel juggle can get hard if you don't have a bachelor pad- like I don't- yet. I started to get some responses to my adds. I have (almost) officially rehomed 4 roos to 3 separate good homes (pending drop off) and still have calls pending. It is a fabulous sense of accomplishment and none too soon as I need the space for the up-and-comings badly. The testosterone of the multiple boys is challenging in the mornings :thI will only have 4 more to rehome and I have time with 3 b4 they go sideways.

After FINALLY breaking my young broody -stubborn little gal started Dec 24th- I have also gotten a few inquires after chicks now. I am not understanding the trend even though I see the ferals out with new hatches, we have not really entered our winter yet. Maybe people are not as panicked at the moment or have done the ground work and are ready to start their flocks? Seems late pandemic wise but whatever it is, I am thrilled to rehome my cockerels to young enthusiastic couples becoming more self sufficient and of course, the chicken show therapy is great for all IMO.
Yesterday I also spotted our friend who I had gifted some chicks to 5 months back and I asked how his flock was. In turn I got the biggest smile and a very happy response. So, it is the little things isn't it?

K. Gotta go prep cages for travel. Stay safe and well all!!! 😷🤙
