Don't worry, future generations will freak over something or another that you're generation is doing.

Never did we play with mercury with bare hands! It was fun to roll it around, split it up, and watch it recombine.
Lead, however, was considered safe to use. @Molpet is right! Every few years, a 'safe' product is labeled 'unsafe'! And I really miss creosote, that great wood preservative.

I personally like playing with cornstarch and water. It makes a non Newtonian fluid. If you put it on top of a speaker with plastic wrap it dances around.
