"NY Gov Hochul devotes $65 million for enforcement of mask policy, which is to expire
Jan. 15, state inspectors will be used to help counties enforce a COVID-19 policy that she imposed recently, requiring businesses and other entities to force patrons and employees to wear masks. "

Seems like a LOT of dough that would be better used elsewhere IMHO.

There has been an extension on a moratorium on student loans. Not sure if that extension means they cant still draw interest.
Payments and interest still stopped. Now the next payment on student loans is May 1.Fine with DD1's BF ;)

Um, yeah, that is a LOT of money!

Went to work today. My boss tested negative for covid yesterday and today. His grandparents and his aunt both tested positive. Hospital wanted to put grandpa on a ventilator at 90% oxygen blood level. They refused it and asked for a nasal cannula instead. They were in the ER for 4 hours and never got that or an IV or saw a doctor. They ended up leaving and doing at home care. Grandpa is much better today but still hacking.

ERs and hospitals are totally overwhelmed here, a very bad situation. DH had a non-Covid problem last weekend, and we spent 12 hours at the hospital ER Monday, a scary place right now.

Point is if the doctor is that concerned about 90% bol that he wants to put someone on a ventilator and then lets 4 hours go by after refusal without doing a nasal cannula? Its like theyre trying to kill people....

Yep and the I Vs are usually popped in immediately.

Lets say that the doctors and nurses are stressed, overworked, and overwhelmed by what they are facing, every day, at the hospital/ emergency room where they work. I couldn't do it for a week, much less two years. Mistakes and other difficulties are so much more likely to happen under these circumstances!
We've been in ERs multiple times over the years, back during 'normal' times, and things can be chaotic. Now, really miserable.
