I heard six months also, but this one was two months on booster, I don't think the experimental vaccine can prevent covid, evidence everywhere, but it can help on death evidence everywhere, the vaccines should be considered a treatment not a vaccine.
Vaccines prevent disease, these ones do not, just prevent death for some that are susceptible.
I think you hit the nail on the head.

Covid changed my life... I don't overstock but I also don't wait until I'm near to none, when I decide to buy more toilet paper.
I've never been a 'prepper' but several yrs ago middle of summer big storm here took out power most of state. We were three days going on four before it came back on. I bought a small generator (couldn't find any anywhere at the time) and started keeping stocked up on some canned goods and jugs of water. Have a big chest freezer filled bottom with gallon jugs of ice.
Until covid hit toilet paper was not on our list of necessities :gig

I think those numbers can be confusing if you don't also know the percent population vaccinated. If 25% of the population is vaccinated and 50% of the cases are vaccinated that is one thing. But if 95% of the pop is vaccinated the same 50% means that half the cases are in 5% of the population ... the unvaccinated. The "cases per 100,000" vaccinated vs unvaccinated is a LOT different.
Yes, thinking about this yes it can get confusing, especially just listening to the news. Like our county news will say hospitalization rates are up 400%
Then I look up how many are hospitalized, eight. :hmm
Also thinking about a article I read in The Atlantic (I posted link awhile back), why we can't trust hospitalization #s anymore. They said 50% of covid hospitalizations are not covid related, either there for different reasons and test positive, and there because they have comorbidities and are hospitalized just to be observed.
Also posted a Cornell University link, not sure the %, they have a little more than 20,000 pop, more than 900 positive, 99% vaccination rate and president said many of them boosted.

Found a new variant in France. Not sure if its "cause for concern" yet. Saying it originately from Africa (same as omicron). Is it possible that this could eventually mutate into something harmless?
Do you think the current administration will put a banhammer on travel from France like they did South Africa?

That remains to be seen. I think it depends on whether or not they view this variant as a cause for concern. My understanding thus far is that like omicron symptoms are mild. Of course they always tell us its like 10 times more contagious. My understanding is no one has died from it yet

 that's a great story in itself. The things that happen for us to learn what we need in desperate times. My mom came from a 3rd word country, where she said they used corn cobs to wipe themselves; in modern society, no one is near ready for corn cobs. Maybe I'm wrong.

In modern society we have bidets. In most 3rd world countries they use water to clean after using the facilities. In fact they usually will have a pitcher by the toilet to use for that purpose. I've never heard of someone using corn husks as TP. Not to say that doesnt occur but it doesnt make much sense
