Sounds like a Macho thing.
Tell him, "I beat Covid  " is much cooler than "I beat a stomach bug.:hmm"
Sounds like the tummy bug I had last week. Sick at both ends for about 24 hours. Belly sore and grumpy another couple of days, then back to normal. Did not test for Covid. DH said a lot of his coworkers at the office reported family members had it too.

Covid hasnt affected the economy. Policy has. I can see that. Covid is killing people though. I can see that too. I can also see the people it hasnt killed. I try to follow the science and not the nonsense. Thats why some of my hubbys "theories" I believe. And some of them I do not.
I really believe covid has definitely affected the economy! They can the blame it on politics all they want, I'm sorry, many of us can see what covid is doing. People missing time on jobs and messing with others lives because of the missed time because of illness..airlines for one huge example. Truckers..my son being one.. that had to stay home with covid..his partner too because he's the one that gave it to him..the list goes on. It trickles quite a ways down as to who is and how the economy is affected.

But ask yourself why he had to stay home? Hes a trucker so hes in a cab by himself driving. Most truckers even sleep in their cabs. Why then is he not permitted to work? Or was that his company's policy? I didnt say politics, I said policy. Like if work said you had to be vaxxed and you said no, now your job is gone. Thats not covids fault. Thats your company's policy at fault.

Actually..I did say partner, it was his truck driving partner that had Covid. So that's one truck down, along with many others that get sick with covid. Truck drivers don't stay in their trucks. They deliver, that takes.. getting out of the truck. So many shelves are empty in the stores right now. And once you're sick with covid, you stay home...sick. My son did..sick as a dog in most cases. He took it home to his wife. She lost her smell and taste, still having problems with that .. since before Halloween. Not getting into it much more here, not one for confrontation.. especially on the .. who's fault is it. No one ever wins on that argument. No sense in trying to push our beliefs on another, just doesn't work.

Nov 2020 and I'm still not right. For months I had to rest after brushing my teeth. Took all day to take care of the poultry and make food for myself. No way I could have worked until over a year since I caught it. I consider myself blessed because I had friends that didn't make it.

I don't see an argument. I thought I saw a conversation. There are different types of truckers. Long haulers don't get out of their trucks much.

Covid was purely gastro symptoms for me and 2 others I know.. I had no breathing issues, which is funny, because I have asthma. I think it just depends how your immune system goes about attacking it.

This happened to me too.. pure exhaustion, couldn't lift my arms. I'd have a burst of energy when I'd first wake up, then it would be gone within the hour. Took 18 months to finally feel back to normal. I am so grateful for my health now. I couldn't drive to the store, let alone work. And my brain was not working enough to even figure out unemployment forms. Not sure how my body would react with a round two.

We have to remember everyone's illness and experience is different.
It would be easier if we could find one cause then one solution that fit every case but that is not how the world works.
I love that we can keep the stories coming and learn from each other. As contentious as this site seems at times, I think we have been more civil than the national debate. :hugs
