I am lucky that alcohol doesn't get to me. My grandfather and a niece were/ are alcoholics so it's been a concern.I 'quit' alcohol 32 years and 37 days ago. I 'quit' nicotine 15 years ago. For me nicotine was/is the harder addiction. I would still be using chew tobacco if the Princess hadn't 'made' me promise to quit. I hope to NEVER drink again, but if given a terminal diagnosis I will immediately buy bags of Levi Garret and Redman - the green bag. Don't go back!
I have one hard cider maybe once a week when I talk to my brother. He drives me nuts sometimes. One drink on an empty stomach makes me a happy drunk

Nicotine and caffeine are my drugs of choice. I was off the caffeine until the long covid fatigue. I figured it was better to have caffeine and stay off the nicotine.
But if terminal I would go back to the nicotine. Sometimes the cravings are still there when I'm at the gas station and see an ad. However the price is crazy
