We used to go every week, we like fresh too. Usually to 3 stores for the right thing, glad it's not just me!
I'm on a news blackout today. I watched the local stuff to see the weather and then turned it off.
It does get a bit overwhelming. I totally understand. :hugs

I just scored this:

Anyone know how much of it I should add to aloe gel to make something similar to this:

It was not unusual for me to make 2 or 3 runs a week into town, though our Walmart is about 30 miles away. That's where we usually do all our shopping. Now we make a list and DH goes ONCE a week or less. Like a lot of stores, the WM is limited-entry, one-way. You can't go back for something you miss, so ordering ahead and curbside puckup makes more sense. We don't eat a lot of meat. We have plenty of beans. The New Normal is weird but we're adapting. God willing, we'll survive.

I believe to be effective it has to be 60% alcohol. So the recipe I had assumed a 90% alcohol, not 80% like you have. It called for 1/3 cup aloe to 2/3 cup alcohol. So for what you have, adjust accordingly. Use more of your alcohol and less aloe. Like maybe 1/4 c aloe to 3/4 c alcohol. But I'm guesstimating, not a mathematical equation.

and I bought a food dehydrator
I usually just grow long keeping onions but had to try alisia craig last yr to see how big they get. Thought about chopping and freezing them then read dehydrating them they are like fresh so I did up a couple gallon bags. DW made me run it in the garage though 😆. Been wanting to make a solar dehydrator and do a lot of other stuff.

Can you freeze bacon?
Yup, have a couple cases in the freezer. The packages are already vacuum sealed. The dairy plant I work for is owned by Kraft/Heinz and we get food orders every few months and get stuff pretty close to cost. Bacon by the case is like $2 a package. Our big chest freezer is usually packed with all sorts of stuff.
