The more I read about Coronavirus, the more scared I get. I wasn't too worried at first. But now reality sinks in. Read an article that said Coronavirus can stay active and airborne for up to 3 hours! That means staying 3 feet away will not do you any good. So the less trips you make anywhere, the better off you are.

Since this is a chicken forum after all, I'd think most folks on here have the space to set up a small vegetable garden. One of the best things you can do for your family in times of uncertainty.
Too cold to set out plants and seeds? Start your seedlings inside now. You don't need anything but an egg carton (and who around here has any of those?) and a little bit of soil. You can even use garden soil from your yard, just bake or microwave it a bit first to kill the bug eggs and weed seeds. By the time the weather warms up and Spring ... finally ... decides to stick around, you'll have ready-to-go seedlings!

You can even plant a vegetable garden in a flower pot. My best producing tomato plant - ever - was a bush grape tomato designed for patio pots. We even brought it inside at the end of the season and got an extra three weeks of juicy gems!

EDIT to add ... I forgot to add that you use capped-off egg shells (be sure to poke a drainage hole before you crack them!) as flower pots and set them in the egg carton to stabilize them. Not only are you starting your seeds early, but you're creating amazing new "dishes." "Peppers on the Half Shell," anyone?

" I will soldier on" is actually the opposite of what military personnel can do right now. my dad and uncle are in the military and they are now unable to travel anywhere right now. instate or out of it. so no going to grandparents house for grandpas birthday :hit
Bless them both ... and keep them safe!

I am wondering what everyone is doing with all of the toilet paper. Every store I have been to is sold out. Luckily we have enough to last quite awhile but I bought it awhile ago. Just curious.
Well, our local WalMart ran out of frozen pizzas early on, too. Apparently, people are putting their TP on their pizza? I dunno, maybe the extra fiber helps fight the virus? :idunno

processed and microwaveable foods will go first and fast.....schools are closed, and most ppl can’t/won’t cook....as for us, well we just did some additional backyard shopping and processed another 5# of meat today! I’ve no room to start my garden inside or I would have already.....will just have to wait a couple more weeks and then we can start planting
