When BLU and BEN start in, game on! OMG :barnie
I made the mistake of separating a breeding pair to my front porch (the coops are in the back.) Never again (yeah, right!)! The crowing wars were like "Dueling Banjos" ALL DAY LONG! Worse, any time car headlights came by at night, it started all over again, no matter the hour. At the time, including my bachelor flock, I had NINE roos in the back yard. I am doubly blessed with ever-tolerant neighbors!

Amen.

I just know I will get rotten tomatoes thrown at me for this, but we (Americans in general) are some of the MOST spoiled people on earth.

No, I do not belive it makes me unpatriotic to say it out loud. One can't beign to work on an issue if they refuse to recognize it. I like my freedoms as much as the next person, but I'm not willing to let others suffer or needlessly die so I can have a tantrum about it.
My problem with this whole thing is people are more concerned about their lives and not concern with others lives at all. That to me is quite sad that we do not care about humanity whatsoever All we care about is ourselves...

We are so selfish and it is honestly disgusting to me.

I could care less if I don't get my hair cut ever again if that meant that it would save people's lives.

I could care less if I never have to walk into a grocery store again and I have to do pick up every single time, If it would save people's lives.

The only thing I care about is that people are not dying because I care about other human lives. I don't care that they are saying that I need to stay isolated or that I need to wear a mask.

My youngest was telling my father that he looks stupid in his mask and my father said that is okay because everyone else looks stupid with you 😂 I absolutely love my dad and how he thinks

:lau :gig :lau

Mine usually crowed when I went out there and then randomly whenever but not a ton. Usually in the morning and evening and then a couple times in the afternoon.
Squatch thought he was manly 😂

The death layers don't crow as much, they only do it in the morning and that's about it

That’s how my Andalusian was!!! He loved to hear himself crow!! LOL and he grew up so fast like huge combs and wattles and basically turned into a man overnight 😂🤣 but he never tried mating haha

Red mostly crowed in the morning but did sometimes crow during the afternoon and whenever I went out there he would crow lol

I think I'm just keeping them until 20 weeks or less. I doubt they would eat a ton of feed in that amount of time that we will notice, but maybe they will. I'll also give them veggie scraps like I do with the chickens every day at dinner time.

I'll load up on turkey feed 🤪
They are pigs from what I’ve seen 😂🤣😂

And I believe it because I think one of my Australorps could outcompete any Cornish X or even a turkey with her eating LOL

CX eat tons so I imagine the turkey version of that would be insane :lau :th

Someone told me that I should just get a heritage breed if I want to have them as pets because the broadbreasted just get way too big and they start having health problems after a while just like the Cornish cross.
They can depending on how you raise them.
My girls belonged to a friend first, who kept them in a large stall with food 24/7. They were fat unhappy girls who never got exercise, but laid eggs well.
When said friend moved the girls were about 1-ish and came to my farm where they got to be outside, in the sun, and had a small hill to traverse. There were bugs to eat, dust to roll in, and other chickens and turkeys to mingle with. Food was more restricted and they had to move a little bit when they were hungry.
After about a month they had lost a few pounds and became rather active for their size. One had ongoing eye problems, lids misshapen-probably genetic, but other than that I'd say they did quite well.
I doubt a BBW tom would have lasted very long though. And they certainly wouldn't be able to breed very well. The BR tom didn't have a problem...they were like tables compared to the BR hens. Really big tables! :gig
Squatch used to crow... when the neighbors came home, when the neighbors would walk out of their house, when the neighbors would talk, when the neighbors dog would bark, when my dogs would bark, when he would see me, when he would see our other neighbors, when UPS would get here...
That used to be my tom turkey. Best. Watch. Dog. Ever.
