Change of subject, in the Cool News dept., ... a guy in Marion, IL has been going door to door with his guitar seranading people on their front porches. Well, he is on the lawn. He's pretty good. He's a troubadour! I just thought it was cool. That's how musicians and entertainers used to share their music before the tech age. Sharing the joy.

There's a guy in Seattle who is an opera singer and has been holding "concerts" on his lawn every day. Apparently started because he was just tired of being inside and wanted to practice a little outside, then neighbors started asking him when the next show would be, so now it's a regular thing. Neighbors and passers bys sit on the lawns or the sidewalk for the free show.

Just putting a small dose of reality into the drama.
According to the link below which is considered as reliable as the data fed to it, 23.7 people have died for each Million of people alive.
In percentage terms that is; 0.00237% per Million.
Generally speaking people would be far better off if they studied the evidence and the numbers rather than dwelling on the often hysterical media sources.

There are only estimated figures on how many people are infected. Nobody knows and they never will. There are various estimates from twice as many as estimated to five times as many estimated. If say the estimate is an under estimate by say a factor of five then the mortality rate v infected becomes rather small.

The media often wants ratings so they say whatever they please. I'm glad I don't watch TV news or really read it. I'm getting most of my information from my Dr, he's a lot more reliable and tells the truth.

I played it, myself, and my tabby cat went nuts! He was sitting on my desk (too much assistance, again) so he was right next to the speakers. I wish I'd had video on him!
She text it to me earlier and I had my phone on full volume. When I played it my beagle and my puppy tried to take my phone because they want to eat all the chicks. They wanted McNuggets.

Every time we have chicks that hatch I always say to my beagle "Kill the babies" because that's how she acts 😂 she's a nut! She is also a retired hunting beagle so I think that's where her hunting drive comes from with birds.

Just a small sample group, found a third of those tested for antibodies had coronovirus and recovered and didn't even know it.

Reality for me is that I'm not near as concerned with the numbers worldwide as I am with what's going on close to home.
My county has 5 confirmed deaths and about 105,000 residents. Thats twice the average number you quoted.
We have 57 confirmed cases and it continues to rise. As far as those numbers being an estimated figure. Those are confirmed cases and reality is that number is a lot higher. We've tested a very very small amount of the people in our county. I personally know three people wanting tested and none have been able to be. Ive only heard of one person that I know that did get tested.
That leads me to believe our cases are probably quite a bit higher because we don't know with so many still untested.
I agree the % of deaths vs the population in my county may be considered small but when it becomes a family member or friend that becomes infected or god forbid dies. It really doesn't matter the %.
We have a lot of people that see it as another one of those things that "won't happen to me" so theyre out and about living life as theyve always done without a care in the world.
Thats whats concerning and a dose of reality is that those people are the reason our numbers will continue to grow.

I think once you post into a thread, you are following it and should get alerts when anyone posts to it. Also, on my phone, at the top of the thread there is a "follow" button I can click. Do you have that? Also, look in "Settings" and see if your Notifications is turned on.
Thanks! I do have the alerts but I didn’t know about the follow option. Duh. I’m no techy . Haha.what a nice place to chat on the quarantine days.

Good morning @Loreli !
If you want to chat there are also a number of chat threads like Byc Cafe; Are there any home bakers here?; What did you do in the garden today?; etc. I’d add the links for you if I knew how but I’m not very tech-savvy either lol but you can search them by the those thread titles
