Yeah, I guess they know they can’t enforce it so don’t try? Thankfully most people were wearing masks properly but not everyone.

Very few people wearing them last Monday, I think mostly due to the weekend heat wave (which is why I prioritized making a lightweight mask). Will be curious to see if anything changes with the directive, though it's not "live" yet. Though I don't get the point of having a start date on something that's a strong suggestion instead of a requirement.

People are just acting unwisely in my opinion. Everyone who’s not wearing them will be the reason why we have another insane spread of the virus. We will have another shut down most likely.

Here masks are required.....but I understand those poor souls at the front doors dealing with all the abrasive, abusive crap from unmasked people getting in their faces not being to forceful about it.

Neither do the Princess or I; hence, we will continue social distancing, wearing masks, and using hand sanitizer. Plus they would look at me and say, "This one is too old for a ventilator. Just let him go." I'm not ready to 'go'.

I think that is likely how they would treat me as well. I am no spring chicken and have underlying conditions that make me more "disposable".
I still have work to do. I am not ready to 'go' either.

Not to burst any bubbles, but the virus will be back in the fall, hopefully we have a bit of lull over the summer to get ready for the next round...

Heck, it's not even gone. It's still here and in some areas expanding. In NJ today there were more than 200 deaths, and we are on a downward slope. Sadly I expect to see scattered spikes throughout the country long before fall. There is no indication that heat has any impact on the virus.

That’s sad that they think that older people or people with preexisting conditions are somehow worth less or not worth saving over young, healthy people.

Also, are hospital stays really that expensive!?

I guess it makes sense. I’ve heard of some people going bankrupt from medical bills cause it’s like $50,000 or even six digits. And that they even charge for ambulance rides!? not sure how common bills that high are though. Maybe he had something super expensive done.
