I wish I could find the video on the differences between cats and dogs reactions. I've looked all over for it, but it's eluding me. I'll keep looking ... It was a real gem!
My dogs licked my face like crazy... the cat went under the bed and hissed at me 😂

My bunnies jumped on my lap and kissed my face. They may hate me today though because we are getting another bunny today 😊

Nah that doesn’t sound crazy! I feel for people too even if they’ve done me wrong or are bad or whatever. I know that something must have happened for them to be that way and have so much anger etc. And in this case it sounds like this woman most likely has a mental illness too? Some sort of dissociative identity or narcissistic personality disorder or something??? To be so split. :( I hope she gets the help she needs too as well as those kids and that husband :(
There’s always a reason why someone does the things they do. I have such a hard time not trying to help people like that. I have helped people with addictions and put myself in bad situations, but the people I helped are no longer addicts.

The hardest thing I think is when someone has been treated poorly since being a child... those people make my heart hurt. They usually never are the same.

Vacation was a big flop... I honestly think vacationing during Covid was the worse idea ever. Tensions were high and the end of it wasn’t so good. My beagle also got sick and was throwing up blood so the bill when we got back gone was pretty high.

I just want to stay home... we plan on buying a camper for next year so we can bring our dogs next time.
Sorry the vacation went sour.
I think for the time being, it is best to stay home and save money. Probably for at least another year and likely two.
When things go awry on a trip, I try to make lemonade out of it. I can usually find something even better to do.

Today we are having a socially distanced birthday party for D. We have 3 friends coming over that we know have been fairly isolated. We have some strong handwashing protocols, constant access to hand sanitizer, masks required, outdoors. It's movie theater themed so we're serving single-serving movie theater foods (boxed candy, microwave popcorn, personal pan pizzas made with masks and gloves on, cupcakes as our birthday cake) so there's no communal surfaces. We're bringing our large TV outside and setting it up under the awning and putting chairs we've wiped down with bleach solution 6' apart. We're going to watch the Alien films - some of D's favorite movies.

Normally we'd do a big thing with a lot of people and a ton of themed snacks and decorations - we love birthdays in my house - but we're limiting all gatherings to +3 households max, always outdoors+masked+distanced and minimum 2 weeks between seeing anyone outside our households still. (Something like 98% of covid cases develop within 11 days, so 2 weeks gives us a buffer if someone is sick so we don't spread it socially without knowing it.) And probably will until there is a vaccine. :T

It's been so crazy. We're normally the sort of people to have the modern/relaxed equivalent of 60's socialite dinner parties on a weekly basis. (Usually with like board games and pizza or movies, etc)... And now we're meeting with like... 2-3 select people usually once a moth, tops.

we are doing the same here. After a long time conversing with other families, granddaughter has a 4 person group of friends whose household takes this as seriously as ours. She went to a friend's house yesterday, and Tuesday she will come over here. crazy version of a social life! thank heaven she's not of dating age yet!

We had my son's 21st from the porch - a drive-by, so to speak - and believe it or not, it was a BLAST! My Mom's 80th and DD's graduation, not so much, but we managed. Mine is coming up next month and to be honest, I'm looking forward to skipping this one. If we can't have a big party, I'd just as soon not do anything organized. My family is big on gathering - so this just doesn't work! Still ... life moves on, so we're making do, but I sure hope we can get back to our big Sunday dinners at the farm. That was/is Real Life!
