Oh wow that’s ridiculous!! I usually always check anyways although my camera or sensors or whatever are especially good or something because it always detects even pedestrians and cars behind me and freaks out and brakes 😂

I think sensors with it are a little better than just cameras because my last one was just a camera and I backed into a few things even with looking first but it definitely depends. Mine actually has the auto braking/anti collision thing too which I kind of hate because sometimes it does it for a bush or something lol but it is handy sometimes! I mean, I never really need it because I’m always careful, but it’s nice having the extra assurance sometimes haha

I honestly thought I would hate it and I do somewhat because I don’t like the car driving for me and too many people take it for granted and don’t learn to check for themselves but still. It’s nice sometimes because sometimes even with checking and paying attention, you don’t always see everything. But I’m lucky in that I learned to drive first with an old crappy car and check for myself.
I completely agree! Maybe the issue is how dependent people are with their high-tech-fancy-space-car-capabilities. I see it working in some situations but not to be completely dependent on.
I have super dark tinted windows in the back so backing up at night can be sketchy. It would help to have a sensor for that kind of stuff.

Yeah that makes sense! People are definitely dependent on it! I usually check beforehand and then look at the thing. I find it’s actually safer most of the time to stay looking at it because sometimes if I’m trying to look at the side or in the mirror or whatever I won’t necessarily see something whereas the camera is has a really wide angle and the sensors so it sees a lot, usually more than I can. Though of course it doesn’t work as well at night or in bad weather haha

Makes sense. I can only imagine what kind of safety features the cars of the future will have. I have a 2011 Nissan Versa hatchback, named Irene... Nothing crazy. Then I drive someone else's newer car and I feel like I'm in a race car.... I'll need a bunch of sensors.

:lau yeah it definitely takes some getting used to lol my last one didn’t have this stuff and it was new at the time. But then again it was the cheaper model. This time we got the better one because it was barely any more, shockingly. it’s a lease hahah it’s the 2020 Subaru Outback so I’m not used to all the features lol the last one was 2016 I think. Idk. The only downside is this one doesn’t have a CD player 😭😭 Subaru has always had them when others don’t. 😭 the 2016 had one. But it’s probably better anyway cause I’d have to lug a bunch of CDs around like I always used to and be messing with it while I drive lol

No CD PLAYER?! Ohhh man. I use an auxiliary cable 🤔 it would be nice to have bluetooth.
I don't think I've ever been inside a Subaru but my dad had one and it was cute, not too big...just not good with names I dont remember what model it was.

Yeah it’s a tragedy! Lol I LOVE CDs!!! And I have tons lol I have used aux before but for some reason it plays super quiet on mine lol I LOVE Bluetooth and also Sirius but still love my CDs haha and this one is nice and roomy lol an amazing amount of room 😂🤣

I think most people just list the closest big city to them. It’s easier than saying some obscure city or small town most people have never heard of before and having them be like “where!?” 😂🤣
When I first moved to North East (the town, not the direction,) changing my address was like acting out Abbott and Costello. I swear, I heard it so many times I could actually script the conversation:

Okay, so what's the new address?
(Street Address details,) North East, Maryland.
Okay - where in the northeast?
(Street Address details,)
Okay, Got That. What town?
North East.
Northeast where?
Maryland.
Yeah (audible frustration at the "dumb broad" - me- starting to build)
I've got that. But WHERE in Maryland?

North. East.
What's the name of the TOWN?
North East.
(Long silence on the other end of the phone)
The name of the town is North East?
Yes.
(Embarrassed chuckles) Oh. Ummm. Okay. Will there be anything else, today?

We still get it occasionally - and it's still funny to me! Now ... Who's On First?

OMG that’s hilarious 😂🤣 I also thought you meant Northeast PA at first cause that’s actually a town there too lol right by my grandparents.
