I so know what your sharing... Have known IRL several who "believe" alot of this stuff (shrugs)

Yeah. I was 6 when my mom took me to my first anti-UN flag burning protest. 9_9; It's some life-destroying nonsense that I was well sick of by the time I was hitting my teen years. She got past it when she got cancer and got treatment for her depression and our relationship changed dramatically. She was so much happier and we got along splendidly after that, but it was unfortunately late.
Hate to say it but didn't hurt that the man who used to spout them on the radio died. >_>; He was local.

Little did she know I'd use those antigovernmental tendencies I was taught VERY differently than her...

Your welcome.... Did find my compliment?

I did not go looking I must admit. I'm not on twitter anyhow.

I woke up at 8 am ... an hour after I FINALLY fell asleep ...so it's been a really rough day, despite a nap!

Ok, see, NOW you're channeling me. :p Have I infected you? Is chronic insomnia contagious? I've got hot milk with honey and lofi hiphop and ghibli piano sleep mixes if you need it... XD

I wanted to add laughter to the reply for the *poking* your doing to @MROO ..
I feel the insomnia as well here fully.

Over in my haiku collection I have documented it.... Today's productivity level was, ummmm, "the needle bearly lifted off the resting post."

Lets, hope you're not channeling me, @MROO! Next thing you know you'll be keeping bug colonies, collecting bricks for various reasons, and driving 5 hours to buy specialty rabbits!

Too late! I had a meal worm colony on my kitchen counter (leftover from DS' second grade lesson) for years ... literally YEARS ... well before we had chickens. They were his pets ... and he's take them out to play with them and show visitors. The reactions were priceless! Then there was the click beetle family we kept for a few months before passing them along to my Bio-teacher sister. They were really neat, too .. but way too prolific and noisy!
I have a mess of old bricks in the back garden, including one marked Maryland and one marked North East ... both from local quarries that have been gone for a VERY long time.
And we drove 6 hours to pick up our first clutch of critically endangered (less than 1,000 breeding birds left globally) chickens - through what we later found out was a motorcycle rally on the DC beltway. Zheesh!
So ... I WIN! Or at least, you've found somewhat of a kindred spirit (aka fellow nutcase! :D)

G exits quarantine soon! Monday! His sense of taste being gone is still distressing but we've pivoted to giving him different textures instead of flavors. Crunchy carrots and bell peppers, soft eggs, squeaky fresh mushrooms, toast, chewy granola bars, things of that nature and that helps. Today I will be eating one of my Very Hot Famously Spicy Korean Ramens That Nobody Else Eats(tm) and I'll put some on a plate for him so we can see if he can taste it. It's a real powerful punch of not just spice but also umami so he may get pick up on some of it.
That's extreeeemely thoughtful and creative of you! And who knows, maybe G will discover that he really DOES like spicy foods, Either that, or your Ramens will deaden enough taste buds that he'll be able to eat hot stuff in the future! :D

I’m late finding this but... I live in a hot state, AZ. So far we lost my husband’s daughter in AZ and our very dear friend in CO to the virus. My brother and his wife are very slowly recovering from it and one niece, her husband and her son had mild cases of it! They live in Idaho and Mississippi. I’ve been sick for 4 months and tested 3 times for it ( all negative) but my Dr thinks I had it but by the time I was test, after being sick for a month, it wasn’t present anymore. But he thinks the last 3 months are the after math of it! But the last three days have been somewhat better, my mind is clearing so I really like that. According to the Dr, I can’t pass it on to anyone. What’s really crazy though... if your sick you have to be tested to even see a Dr and you need tested shortly before your appointment!! I’m trying to find a new Dr because the one I’ve been seeing is an urgent care dr and right now it’s almost impossible to get in. The only good thing about being sick is that I’m loosing weight because I can’t eat anything but toast and sometimes oatmeal. I’m also not dead tired all the time. We live out in the middle of nowhere so isolating is easy. Stay healthy everyone!!!

This is a very simple leftover throw it in there....
-- (Thawed) dark meat from Thanksgiving
-- All the leftover dipping veggies and some small packs of other veggies in drawer of fridge.
-- leftover chicken breast italian seasoning
-- a heaping tsp of minced garlic
-- chicken broth (duh, leftover as well) IMG_20201212_183851920.jpg

Idk, I had a pet tarantula as a kid... And a cricket colony to feed him. Mom wouldn't let me get the Goliath Bird Eater I wanted from the petstore or I woulda had that too. :lau Might be worse than mealworms.

He was able to taste the ramen noodles! He was also able to taste a WEE bit of breakfast today, enough that the carrot sticks were sweeter than the eggs. But the bell peppers tasted like nothing he said. Such a relief. XD The man sends himself into a panic doomscrolling and deciding he has every problem and will never recover from anything.

Rest assured, he already likes spicy food but this particular brand of Korean ramen is something a little else. It takes a robust constitution to consume. There's a 2X spicy version that's famous for making people cry on youtube and being hot enough to cause burns in sensitive people. I eat the regular version.

It's an experience worth having if you like hot food a lot. It's also more manageable if you only use half the hot sauce packet. I eat it with mushrooms, carrots, radishes and green onions cut into mine while the noodles cook with a soft boiled egg on top at the end. :)

This kind of culinary creation is THE BEST! It really doesn't matter what you put i it. The garlic and Italian seasonings render everything edible and delicious!

Sounds like you've had a really rough time of it and I'm sorry for your losses. :hugs:(
