I really don’t understand your analogy at all. If we have a cold or flu my decision making isn’t the best? If I have a bad cold or flu I stay home.
Haven't you heard of people who "work sick?" Even if the company gives sick leave, there are lots of people who feel like they need to prove that they work hard, so they don't take leave unless they can't get out of bed.

2 guys, where I retired from, worked in different departments. They never took a sick day. Those 2 departments had the worse sick leave usage in the whole place. One was rushed to the hospital from work and died in the hospital from covid.

@Beer can has their account set so that you cannot send them a message.

How did I do that? Never changed anything and don't see anything to not allow messages. I used to get them. Could it be the last format change? Or cause I don't enable emails on notifications? Or I don't enable push notifications? (don't even know what that is)

Here is a month-by-month look at our pandemic year;
January: A scientist in China confirms that a mysterious new pneumonia-like illness identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, can be transmitted from human to human. Two days later, China puts Wuhan under strict lockdown. Meanwhile, on the other side of the globe, the U.S. sees its first case of the disease, later named COVID-19. The patient is a resident of Washington state who had traveled to Wuhan. The Trump Administration declares a public health emergency.

New evidence has been provided ; October 5, 2021
"China knew that a novel coronavirus was spreading in Wuhan months before the rest of the world."

"Purchases of PCR tests in China's Hubei Province surged months before the first official reports of a novel coronavirus case there, according to a report by Australia-based cybersecurity company Internet 2.0.

About 67.4 million yuan ($10.5 million at current rates) was spent on PCR tests in Hubei during 2019, nearly double the 2018 total, with the upswing starting in May, according to the report.

Orders doubled from universities, jumped fivefold from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and surged tenfold from animal testing bureaus. Purchases from hospitals declined by more than 10%.

Monthly procurement data shows a spike in orders in May, especially from CDC buyers and the People's Liberation Army.

"We believe the increased spending in May suggests this as the earliest start date for possible infection," the report said."

So I am curious, have any of you been avoiding health care because of Covid? Are you up to date with your preventative screenings?

Women:
  • Colorectal cancer screening
  • Mammogram
  • Pap smear
  • Cholesterol screening
  • Blood pressure
  • Bone density scan

Men
  • Colorectal cancer screening
  • Prostate cancer screening
  • Cholesterol screening
  • Blood pressure
  • Bone density scan
Thank you for asking. Yes. I get my healthcare through the Boston VA Medical Center. In the midst of the pandemic they cut back on in person appointments and switched some patients to telehealth appointments. However, some things just don't work over the phone. I was able to see my podiatrist for my annual appointment, my eye doctor (who alerted me to the spontaneous covid vaccines available on that same day) and trips to the blood lab for tests. I also kept up with the mammogram and my annual low dose CT scan. My next colonoscopy is scheduled for the Monday after Thanksgiving. So I have another reason to pig out before the purge. OK. TMI, right? I'm not afraid to go to my medical appointments at the hospital. I am reluctant to use an urgent care clinic. I've been spoiled by the quality of care I get at the VA.

You are blessed!

Anyone have any ideas what to do with all these masks after Covid is done? I made lots of masks for my wedding with the intention on my guests taking some. They didnt and I now have 80 something masks that I'm not using. I keep one in my car in case I go somewhere where they require them but I have way too many. I figure I'll keep a few to show my kids in the future and tell them what it was like.
