Could my Girl be a... Guy??

She is an EE. When i first started with chickens i bought some EE's from a guy claiming they were Araucana's. When i picked them up i know they were not but thought he had made a mistake in his add and he really had Ameraucana's. Just my luck i bought a couple EE's. I don't care what your hen is but she is really pretty. It almost looks like she has some kind of lacing on the end of her feathers. I would love to have her in my flock. I do know that you can get a EE from 2 pure Ameraucana's, If they do not match up to the standards.

yes this is true as well but the yellow legs would be unlikely though

I hatched out an Ameraucana chick on July 5th, and I *thought* I was positive that she is a pullet! But this morning she got rather buck with me because I would not let her peck my ring (i gently pushed her back on her chest, which maybe she could have taken for a "chest bump"?) She then proceeded to jump up and kick and peck at my hand, so I batted her across the run. She left me alone after that, but it got me wondering. Here is a photo, tell me what you think!

on the positive side. she is a very pretty chicken. Hopefully you will get blue or aqua or greenish eggs. I was not trying to offend anyone.

yep and it looks like mine that is similar in color is turning into a cockerel

which means i will probably re-home it once i know for sure as i have way to many cockerels right now

If I had to guess, I'd be willing to bet she is possibly along the lines of a "Cinnamon pyle" or, a Red pyle that is Wheaten based in simpler terms.

I would say she looks buff laced. very pretty! sounds like you got a little miss sassy pants there. Also, don't take it personally, the EE vs Ameraucana debate is a long-standing argument with heated conversations. This site is for learning and has lots of good info on it. Don't take it personally

incuding the am breed to am if its not one of the 8 colors its an ee but with other breeds done the same they are still considered that breed just a jumble of colors

yes, I know this. I have both EEs and Blue Ameraucanas. I have studied this and know what i'm dealing with. i don't need to be preached to about this. Just trying to get my point across in a friendly way to the OP. Quite frankly I can see why the OP would be irritated. She was just asking the gender of her chicken. Doesn't need the book thrown at her.

others don't know that thus just a friendly comment not even directed towards anyone in particular...love when people take things not even directed towards them and makes it personal geesh. op did insist that it was an ameracuana we have done nothing but try to explain why pretty bird isn't and then there is the color of the bird on which op did ask about, close to wheaten but not wheaten more of a redish based coloring. and no there is no reason to be irritated at getting some good quility info for feature referance.
