Look, all I know is that the avian vet told me she recommends that chickens get medicated feed. She is not a dog and cat vet but an avian vet that regularly has poultry patients. I am hoping she is right. I just spent $189 on 2 two week old chicks to be looked at, medicated, and tended to for wry neck and a slipped tendon. No other vet here will touch birds.

I go to an avian vet as well and they tend to be much more thorough and detailed than your usual dog and cat vet.
I have bought medicated chick starter for them as well now.
