Countdown To Eggs! For June hatches 😊

Is there a thread like this for July hatches? I follow along here but I don't have any hatched in June........ just July and 1 Aug.

But I am going NUTS waiting for mine to start laying, and for the ones from April 2021 and April 2022 hatches to all start laying again!!!!!!!!

You could start one! (Or just wait here with us!) I’m getting more June babies this year, and will probably do another in the fall again!

Still waiting on 3 of my 10 ladies. The FBCM, Brahma, & an EE. We are getting enough eggs that I am ok having them all spread out with who’s laying!

I only have 3 laying.... 2 of my April 22 babies, and 1 April 21 baby.... My July haven't started but 2 have red combs so maybe soon, my damn CCL from April hasn't started but her comb went red again so maybe. And everyone else is on a break still.... Lol

I think I will hatch in March for myself this year so HOPEFULLY they all start laying before shorter days and maybe more continue to lay??

I'm not sure which of mine are laying exactly. Checking my Flockstar app records it looks like I'm getting 3 dark brown (Marans), 4 regular brown, and 3 colored eggs. The colored eggs almost certainly come from July chicks. Unfortunately I haven't pinned down if they are from the Legbars or Hoover's Easter Eggers. All are showing interest in the nest boxes with new layers weekly. 10 down, 8 to go.

My April chick I am waiting on is a CCL so blue eggs (can't wait to see what shade)

July chicks:
I have a blue frizzle project Cochin so should lay a shade of green
a splash project Cochin that should lay a shade of green
then I think a splash Cochin so a tan/brown

Aug is a splash Cochin I think so a tan/Brown.

But 3 colored egg layers I am waiting on and I can't wait to see their colors!!!!!!!!

What am I looking at here? Is it hard, soft, frozen? Its been a few days now. Any more oddballs? Lash eggs can get pretty funky looking. Yours looks like a hard boiled egg.

It was wild! So, she lays a sage green colored egg, it was very very lightly tinted. The part where I'm holding was fully shelled. Then just sealed off with membrane. The egg jiggled right in there. There were 2 of those under her roost, one the membrane was already broken. I dropped the them in a bowl and microwaved them to give back to the chickens. She then skipped Friday and has laid me a regular everyday since!

My EE laid her first egg today! It’s a lighter green. So happy I have a variety from my Egger girls! Her egg is the one in front (super huge for a first egg, I hope she isn’t traumatized!)

Now just waiting on my FBCM & my Light Brahma. The complete basket is going to look so pretty!
Orpington lays a darker pinkish hue, SF is a light pink/tan, Sussex is peach, Welsummer medium slight speckled, and Blue Cuckoo is a solid medium dark.

I am totally in love with my ladies!

So pretty!!!!! Most of my girls still seem to lay smallish eggs. Even my 2021 girls. My EE is getting to be a decent size though.

And p.s. your girls just had to show off today huh. Lol

My SF egg is still super tiny. And they showed off for sure, pulled all the straw out of the nest boxes and moved it all over the coop, and knocked over the feeder in the run. They had some kind of party today when I got home from work! Chickens Gone Wild at the Chick Inn today!
