I have a silkie sitting on 6 fertile eggs I purchased.
Today is day 6.
Today I noticed that one egg is covered with dried up yellow stuff. I assume there's a crack I can't see and yolk is leaking. I don't really know, but assuming this egg is no good.
The egg next to it has some of the stuff on it, just a little bit. I'm wondering if I should wash the stuff off? Will washing hurt the egg?
I've been here reading for an hour but couldn't find any thread that really addressed my concerns.
I'm hoping someone has advice. I'd hate to lose any more eggs.
