Right? I can drive to High Point to save postage....I go through there every now and then headed for Seagrove.

I inherited all my Nana's old patterns, pattern books, quilting and sewing books, quilting and sewing patterns, and fabric, and.....................
Anyway I have the Annies Attic pattern book that yall were talking about. It has the pot holder, toaster cover I think but anyway I was blessed with all her sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting stuff. It is all packed up but every now and then I sit down and go through it and I am amazed at all the stuff she collected over her years. In the sruff is some of the dresden plates she started and one day I will make a quilt with all the blocks she made. I lost my Nana in 1997

So sorry about your loss. My mom taught me how to crochet when I was 15. I lost her four years later. I couldn't believe all the stuff she had boxed up in the garage. Now I just carry on her tradition--my girl is 15 and I am slowly teaching her what mom taught me

So how many have you made by now?! They would be soooo cute in those chicken wire baskets at Christmas with a dishtowel and apron like insiderart made on the trade for eggs thread, add a jar of canned anything and you sure have a nice gift!!

I am really liking the clothespin bag idea (although I am wracking my brain to come up with a chicken looking one or something out of old blue jeans instead of the dress..that is cute, but the folks I am thinking of would not be too enamored by that) and put the bag in a laundry basket with homemade washing detergent, new clothespin, a clothespin line is the person doesn't have one and what a great "green" gift!! I have never made that falls naptha detergent, can someone that has post again how you do that? Also wonder what sort of "green" laundry basket and detergent containers to use, something recycled I guess, but what, ideas?
