Crafters- What are you making???

Pics
Actually, I wish that was why they were put out of sight. Years ago I made a wallhanging and matching pillow for my inlaws. I specially picked out fish fabric because they liked to fish. I even gave them the rod to hang it with. When I never saw it, I asked where it was. My MIL said she didnt know what to do with it.

Then I made a special one for my son and DIL. Never saw it again. Guess it was too something for their decor. It was a contemporary one, too, not country style. So, after that, I said I'd never give a quilt to my family again, that I'd sell them to others or give them to my friends. And that's what I've done. I do all work by hand, no machine, so it takes me lots of stuck fingers and backaches to get one finished. Makes me want them to be appreciated after all that work.

Yes, I have pictures of some quilted items. I've just sent sweatshirts with quilt blocks hand-appliqued on them to some of my friends. Some of them have been sold through BST recently, too, so you could look them up there. Here are some examples. The first one was done in someone's favorite colors and she knows who she is

You could make a fortune near Christmas selling that quilt-work on ebay or etsy and then it would be treasured becasue people buy what they don't have or cant make...the investment will make it a cherished item...very nice work!!

Thank you, Darlene. As I said, being all handpieced and handquilted, it takes me a long time to make anything, especially with my bad eyes and carpal tunnel. Boy, dont I sound like a pathetic, old woman, LOL?!

Cynthia, Don't feel bad. I think they put them away because they are treasured. Thats what I did with my quilts that my Grandmother and Mother gave to me. I pulled them out after the children were grown and gone and then ended up packing them up again when the grandkids were little. Now they are show pieces that I use and are in mint condition even being 50+ years old. I have pillow cases my great grand mother embrodried over a 100 years ago and afgans my mother crocheted 30 & 40 years ago. My family members keep asking me who I am leaving them to in my Will. I keep telling them not to worry about it because I am going to live forever.

Oh wow Cynthia, those are beautiful! Sell those things girl! I know I would love to have my grandmother and her friend around, whom we called my aunt, to make us homemade mouse dolls, and egg Christmas ornaments...'specially the ones out of the old Legg's pantyhose, and all sorts of other Christmas ornaments. I have my own from them, but I know if I saw some made like they used to make, I would buy them in a heart beat. Geeze now ya'll have me crying

Really pretty cyn! I'm working on a quilted block - I gave up on the hand stuff - and stuck it under my sewing machine! OR I'll NEVER get it done!
