Crafters- What are you making???

Pics
I ordered some 1/2" plastic buckles from Ebay and some 550 green and black parachute cord..haven't gotten it yet but someone in the crochet thread posted a link for directions on making them so I will try those. I was afraid to get loud colored parachute cord since that defeats the purpose of camoflague. I am thinking though that I will make some for my crochet swap pals and then send the rest of the supplies to Athena for the troops to make their own. Whenever I get all my gear and get one made, I'll post a picture.

Wellllllllllll, not too fond of the look of the battle bracelet myself....heavy and masculine...I will send all the supplies I bought to Troy's Place, buckles and cord, so the soldiers can make themselves some..very manly looking even with 1/2 " buckles, but then I think it really is a Soldier "thang" anyway...soooooo Athena, all those materials will be in the box I send

I've seen them and they are nice quality!! You should have no trouble selling those for holiday gifts!!!! Good Luck!!

Baldie, most ofmy gifts this year will be home made, the canning, the crochet, the spiders, the soap....my favorite gifts to receive are home made too!!! I would imagine with a recession in the works that alot of people will get more creative this Christmas...not such a bad thing for folks to depend less on the commercialization part of Christmas anyway..imo

Stocked up on some london broils today to make jerky nearer to christmas. I use that Lawry's steak n chop sauce and it comes out perfect everytime. The jerky will go in my chriostmas baskets with the items I've canned. I plan to roast some pecans too..been shelling those lately and freezing them too.

I am making a couple different quilted items for some of my family members for Christmas. I can't say exactly what, though, because my cousin is a BYC member and she's one of the recipients!

I can say that I am making my aunt a table runner. It's almost done - I'll post it when I finish it!

We just brought home DH's 400lbs of elk meat today, so our gift baskets for family this year will include game meat as well as "Breakfast in a Jar" (which is new for me this year) and homemade bread mix, etc.

But, I have to say last year I wanted to make my SIL and her cowboy-by-trade DH a wreath, but wanted it to be something that could be 'out' year-round.

I used some of the old barbed wire from the fencing at the old family home and laced it with any 'western-y' thing I could find. I had cowboy boot drawer pulls, a pair of leather boot key chains (took the key rings off), spurs, etc. I tied some straw on with a new red bandana. Unfortunately, no picture exists of the wreath, but if I do say so myself, it was beautiful!

DD and I have been busily putting the last minute touches on our crafts for a big local sale next weekend. I have Thanksgiving and Christmas centerpieces, wooden spoon angels and several other little things. I'll get pics of them when more are done. Whatever doesn't sell will be gifted, so I'll either have tons of gifts or not a thing and will have to make more. Not sure which I'm hoping for most! LOL

The quilted gifts are gorgeous..especially coveted by those of us that do not sew, loL!!

Chicken-Mamma...you can't say "breakfast in a jar" without telling what it is, lol!!!! I have some big jars planning to do some of the cookies in a jar but never heard of breakfast in a jar! Pancake mix? The barbed wire wreaths sound absolutely awesome and if that were a bit more country and less western, that would be in my house, lol!!!!!!!! Love that idea, sounds really great!! Nothing "western" in my house though, alot of "country" old stuff but I love that idea..A+ for creativity!!!
