Crafters- What are you making???

Pics
Sundown, how about some pretty colored or white nylon netting from the sewing dept.? then twist each end and tie with a thin pretty ribbon? When the soap dries it lasts longer and still emits a lovely fragrance. I always unwrap our soaps as soon as I get them to let the dry.

Diana, do you have wild grapevines over there? You could make some nice wreaths with those, I made 3 just out of my own last year and they are bigger this year so maybe I'll get 4 out of them!!

Everything here eventually gets out into the "wild" as everyone plants their tiny little gardens prop full... the city plants all kinds of lovely berry rilled evergreen bushes all over so I have an absolute garden of stuff to pick from...
...havent run across any wild grape vines though! Now don't go thinking I am "stealing "or such from the city landscaping! For instance>the city make the train company plant along the (fenced) train tracks and they plant these gorgeous trees bushes etc. then have to regularly remove them when they get too large and they get turned into wood chips! One is a lovely little tree (non evergreen) with little bitty (non-edible) apple like fruit on it!
When the city trims the red stemmed dogwood (er...think it is dogwood ) it is a free for all for basket weaving material!

I found a different spider set on their site . Are they similar to the ones in the catalog? http://www.marymaxim.com/webapp/wcs...0001_10054_3074457345616820385_-1_15009_15011 Also only $5.97 for kit.

I saw those and to me, they are night and day difference. Those nice heavy, silver metal end caps on my spiders are from the kits in the catalog..the ones you see for the 6 bucks use the pearl looking beads and bendable, cheaper end caps and only the seed beads for legs. The 13 dollar kit has colored beads for the body and an engraved silver bead for the head and then tube beads and seed beads for the legs and of course those great looking end caps...def. an upscale looking spider to the pearl looking ones....worth the extra 6 bucks I promise.

Carrie, if you mean tulle, ya'll can buy a package of that from the Dollar Tree with 10 or 12 already cut circle shaped pieces of it in their wedding section...your soap or bath salts can be wrapped with that. Mine, I normally just wrap a fat piece of ribbon around the center and leave it open otherwise when putting it in a basket. I need some of those taller plastic bags with ties though to put the Christmas jerky I'll make in though..dollar tree has them too..and likely all the ribbon I need too...hopefully they will have the christmas music cds I need too so they'll be cheap. The gift "baskets" I plan to make for the folks that are putting my son in a late model race car next year own a trucking company so I plan to make some cardboard trucks to use as baskets for their gifts, have a sort of plan in my head for those but will take pictures when I get those finished.

The bounty from nature sounds great Diana, the evergreen on a cardboard ring will make a beautiful wreath and the fruit from that tree will be pretty decoration.

I get those oriental trading co catalogs too, very tempting!!! They are really great to order stocking stuffers or sunday school or scout troop gifts from since the itmes are often sold in bulk. Pretty good prices too. When we had our North Carolina meeting in February I ordered alot of chicken related stuff from them to use for my name tags and for door prizes.

I did have 5 of the spiders done, one was for the swap Guitarists started at swap bot and I noticed one now living in my son's room so I am down to 3 now!! Have to get busy and get those made, have several on my list to make!!

Can't remember if I said or not but I ordered the stuff to make those battle bracelets and will post pictures of those whenever that all gets here and I get one made..those will be for my pals in the crochet thread..although they don't know that yet so don't tell them, lol!!!

Thats what Im using. We have lots of the wild grape vines around here. I wrap them around about 3 times, tie it together, and then make pine cone wreaths.

Alot of the local churches around here have a cutting of the greens ceremony near the holidays and everyone tromps out in what woods they can find and cuts pretty greenery to make swags and wreaths...just be careful about Poison Oak since it still grows in the cold weather!!! In addition, and hopefully I am correct here..dogwood berries are poisonous to humans so watch out for those with little ones! Not sure about pets....

My grapevines have brown crinkly leaves, just a few green ones left, about January or February here before I would want to actually cut mine back but colder places should be earlier...there is a "process" if you will for cutting back a grapevine too, might google that because you should cut back to a certain point that will enable the vine to grow back from a strong place the next season so your vine will be fat and healthy and your grapes bigger..they bloom on the new growth...an environmental guy at work taught me all this last year and I had..well the birds had! quite alot more grapes this year and much bigger ones than last year so it does work...I was able to make 3 wreaths from what I cut off!

Shelling pecans today..not my favorite task but have a big bag and can't bribe husband or son to do it for me..sooo my job!! Have a great day!!
