I used blank ornaments you can get from the craft store. (mine were frosted) and I bought some rub on applications( I think that's what they're called) a while back on clearance at Hobby Lobby.

You take the design and rub it onto the ornament using the stick that's usually provided. Either a plastic or a wooden popsicle like stick, being careful to not stick the design completely until it is mostly off of the paper. There may be some tearingand/or crinkling, especially since you are placing the design on a round surface. If there is tearing, you can take your finger or the stick and use it to situate the design so that it comes together in the right place. I royally messed the first one up that I did(learning) and so that's why I decided to cover it with glitter. I'm glad I did b/c I think it looks better.

You'll need to spray something on it to protect the design from scratches etc. I used ceramic finishing spray b/c that's what I had on hand. Some of the ladies on here suggested something to use, but I don't remember what they said to use. I just used the ceramic spray because, again, I had it on hand; and it basically works the same way as the stuff that was suggested.

I coated it with dry glitter while the finishing spray was still wet, and used something underneath my work surface to catch the excess glitter to put back in the jar. I save a lot more than I thought I would!

I'm going to spray paint the ornament hanger silver to match the color scheme and it will be a done deal!

You guys have really inspired me to get moving on my crafting for Christmas. I have been so overwhelmed with all the changes that our family is going through right now, and also being in school; Money is really, really tight, and I'm not sure how Christmas will go for us this year. But you all have really inspired me to JUST DO IT, even though overwhelmed. And it has helped. Thank you

I'm making loom potholders for some friends. And, I give away dried morel mushrooms. They're totally a rip-off in the stores!!

I've made tea towels, jam, coin purses...etc etc. I quilted an old top that my great granny made in the 50s, and gave it to my mom for xmas last year! She cried!

I just finished cutting out 32 napkins out of muslin I have had laying around waiting for me to make a comfortor. DGD and I are going to paint oak leaves we collected last weekend and use them to print on the napkins. If I have enough muslin we will also do placemats. If I can find a bolt of muslin on sale we will also do tablecloths.

I used to make ornament like that with my kids!
