Crafters- What are you making???

Pics
I think people were concerned for you - not offended or upset.

Good for you for taking in a homeless dog. They always seem to know you saved them and make wonderful companions.

Your post made me hungry!

Lost - we were all concerned for you, and giving you suggestions that we are going to incorporated into our own broke existences.

My mom told me today that even if she has to pay for it our kids will have a package under the tree.

Update:
Hubby and I searched on craigslist for a homeless dog which we drove and picked up today at a shelter. Will take a while to fatten him up but was so grateful we picked him from the many. Donated 2 50 lb bags of dog food to help the shelter out...felt good.
Have contacted angelfoodministries.com and will be volunteering as I can at one of the local sites in my area.

Perhaps I can try to make things better???

Think I will try baking a few favorites for the farmers who help keep our drive passable in the winter; Hungarian Butterhorns, caramels, fudge and rumcake.

That's the ticket! It would do me a lot of good to so some similar things

I don't believe that people were upset with you either...I too think they were trying to give you a new perspective. These folks are a bunch of loving caring people, and they don't mind bringing that on full force right at the get-go. Consider yourself loved on

Lost, I sure hope that I didn't upset you. I sure didn't mean to. I am really glad you got a dog, and are going to volenteer to help the needy. Good on you. Depression isn't funny and it can get everyone. I know with permenant pain I sure have my days.

Ok so far this is what I've made lol! I am working on painting some small wooden pirate chests for stocking stuffers for the kids. They were a dollar a piece so a good buy! I will post pics of those once I get them done.

Have a look at these fabulous snowflake (paper etc) designs... getting your kids involved with decorating your windows with snowflakes is a nice way to get in the spirit without it costing you a fortune.

Each year we string popcorn on our tree and go into the woods to collect pretties for wreaths etc. Just not xmas in our house without all the handmade stuff.

I think the mass has spoken... no one was offended...

I rescued two manx cats myself... while I was here in Iraq...lol....
and one of my friends picked them up and brought them to my house... They are maybe 2 yrs old, and so darn cute!!!
They pretty much live in the house house alone, except for nightly visits to feed and water, from my friends. My daughter son spend weekends at home (they are both away at University). My dau Steff said one of them actually sleeps with her, and the last email Steff wrote, Nhia (kitty) had her arm/paw wrapped around her neck.. She woke up thinking something is sleeping with me, and it was the cat. LOL!!!

Lost, between the rescued dog, volunteering with angel food ministries, and baking goodies for those that help with your driveway...wow, off to a great start.

Ok, I need a name ....cause lost, isn't you anymore....

We're sisters in this ....together, Athena...

Hey Athena, how are you? Can I send you something you need over there? I know you don't have access to everything you want..maybe that is what I mean...anything you WANT or NEED? lol

I finally wrangled Athena'a address in Iraq and will share it with anyone interested in sending her or her troop something. They have a Troy's place with a long list of things soldiers like to pick up from there that folks send in. The format I saw the announcement in was not conducive to my computer re-posting it, maybe Athena will re-post it? Some snack food items, music cds dvds, stationary....I remember alot of those items. She is too humble to ask fo rthings for herself so a bunch of us on the scrochet swap thread are just planning a personal box of stuff for her anyway and sending it about mid November. Ya'll are welcome to send her some things with that group if you want, Carrie you should have my address if not just pm me and you can send your items with the crocheters if you want. Very cool on the cats needing a home and getting one and you know Athena...you are right..Lost needs a new screen name..maybe "Lost & Found" would be better for her

What a great group you all are...who would think nearly 17000 people could be "warm and fuzzy" and caring?!Awesome

Diana, do you have wild grapevines over there? You could make some nice wreaths with those, I made 3 just out of my own last year and they are bigger this year so maybe I'll get 4 out of them!!
