I thought the wrinkles looked like lines in the hands, made them look more realistic. The batting and the glitter is a good idea they make iridesent glitter now too. If you don't like the lines a fine grade sand paper might work to clean them up.

All in all a Good job.

I've temporarily put away the knitting needles and took up the hook again. I'm making a shrug using a simple pattern of treble twice, chain twice, repeat.

My "idea" for this is...
a sleeve made from satin and lace...upright, with the large pearl in the palm area. I'm hoping to use my daughters china doll stand to hold them upright and the sleeve to hide. I like the idea Scrambled of ribbon. I will probally use that on the sleeve...
It might help if I described in better detail.
I'm hoping the look is elegant.
Theme: "Pearl of Great Price"
Black tablecloths, with runners...debating I'm looking at white toile with black scenes, or white satin...perhaps with embossing.
I have selected Calla Lilies for the flowers, and strands of pearls laying around with the centerpiece of the hand in the middle of the tables. (We are setting up 10 tables, maybe 11 w/ 6 to 8 at each table.)
we are serving a buffet lunch, and looking for a great time of Worship and fellowship.

Been working on the Valentines Banquet as well...this one is to be formal...hmmm....gotta figure out what I'm goin got wear...

Maybe you can get some old shirts and dress at goodwill and cut the sleeves off so you won't have so much to make? We did Valentine suppers like that at the Methodist church we used to attend, very nice. Don't forget your lighting..maybe just down wattage your bulbs if your fellowship hall has no dimmer..you know, grab some 40 watt bulbs instead and change them all out for atmosphere. Can't believe you have no help!!!! Recruit some of those teens around there to help you!!

Good Morning...running late today.
I have help... but on this one...(the ladies banquet) Well, they come up with ideas...after "I've explained" what I want...that is so far off the wall from what I was wanting that I thought this year...I'll get it together, collect supplies, and then show them what I want. Which was last night after church...they were 'brought up to speed'

I delegated duties, I've set a paint day, where the 'pearls' are to be painted, I have delegated several other duties.
But sure as cotton is prickly....they started going off in these wild hair tangents.

Now, I'm not bossy...(I don't think so) and I love to have participation...and I delegate pretty well...but, oh well,

Valentines Banquet....I'm finished with it....the gals are busy with their little duties and ideas...I've given them pretty much free reign, besides the table placement...I need to see how it works before the ladies banquet. I took care of the tablecloths and added a few more touches...

Now, whatever they work out...enjoy. Next year I want a 'picnic' area for a photo shoot...just thought that would be fun...since this one is to be so formal.
Besides cooking....

They came up with spagetti, different sauces, salads, (No garlic bread...just seasoned toast) and desserts.

I'm trying. Did that sound too bossy on the ladies theme?
I Hope not.

Gwen, maybe their ideas will help and not hurt the image you have for this project...never know, often too many cooks spoil the stew but hopefully not, glad you have help anyway that sounded like a big project on your own!!
