I hope these turn out well completed!! I had about a 5 foot section of the glavanized chicken wire leftover form our coop addition so I have taken that and cut it into strips about 8 inches wide and about a foot long, then cut a few notches in one side so I could close it into a circle and flip the bottom up. I've twisted and squeezed down the sharp wire pieces so they have made cute baskets! I have a piece of jute tied around them for decoration. I have a couple wash cloths crocheted out of beige colored cotton, peaches & cream yarn. I will get a piece of raffia and cut some of that for the "nest" inside the basket and then I will put (my first attempt) some fat little chicken soaps from that melt and pour gylcerin in the baskets. The will be just friend and close co-worker gifts. I won't have much money in them but I am kind of excited about how cute I think they will be! Dont have the soap stuff yet but nearly used up all my wire on baskets. I need to get those wash cloths finished but they dont take very long, then roll them up and tie another piece of jute around them and stick them in with the chicken soap on top of the raffia. Maybe a few bath beads for eggs, not too sure yet. It'll be awhile before one is finished (the stuff I've ordered is not here yet for the soap - mold and glycerin) but the rest I will have completed soon. Thouhgt I would share the idea since we are all chicken lovers and seem to be abunch of crafters incase someone else was looking for a "cheep"! and easy gift!
